Every placement for medical students is subject to availability and formal clearance. Darwin may offer opportunities in the following departments:
Only domestic students are eligible for medical student placements in Alice Springs and must receive formal approval in addition to being available. At Alice Springs, positions in the following departments can be available:
Once your placement has been officially approved, you must apply to working with children's clearance (Ochre Card).
Without having your Ochre Card on hand before the placement start date, you cannot begin a placement in the NT. It is encouraged that you apply for your Ochre Card at least eight weeks before the start of your placement.
In the event that eight weeks have passed and you have not gotten your card, you must be proactive in checking in with Safe NT regarding your application. It is important to keep contacting them until you hear back from them.
Online Ochre Card applications from foreigners are not accepted. You must fill out a paper application and mail it.
The medical college's affiliated teaching hospital and Public Health, Flinders Medical Centre, is permitted to accommodate a small number of visiting students.
Final-year medical students can find placements to complete clinical electives for a minimum of four weeks and a maximum of eight weeks.
To maximise the results of clinical placements in the Northern Territory, the Remote and Rural Interprofessional Placement Learning NT (RIPPL NT) team offers support and assistance to allied health and nursing students, their universities, and clinical supervisors. I graduated on time with a bachelor of computing science degree in December 2017 and I have been very happy at Flinders University ever since. Flinders University is a wonderful community with great facilities, affordable fees and lots of opportunities. Also the infrastructure here is amazing and I've never found anything out of place here. Furthermore, the campus itself has great food options
Flinders University is an example of an efficient, well-managed institution that provides quality education in a safe, peaceful and friendly environment. The university has received great reviews by recruiting thousands of students from all around the world and the faculty has gained international recognition for its outstanding performances in quality education.
Prior to joining Flinders University I was completely clueless about what it would be like working in Australia. I had no idea what I was getting into when getting an IPAS (International Premed Scholarship) and started my degree at Flinders University almost a year ago with only 4 credits in common English. Flinders University has been nothing short of amazing from the start
