Nexford University vs. Rome Business School: Which MBA Is Right for You in 2026?
Two completely different MBA philosophies. One is 100% online, US-accredited, and costs less than Rs. 8 lakh in total. The other is campus-based in Italy, European-accredited, and costs Rs. 26 lakh for the year. Both are legitimate. Both suit different profiles entirely. The question is which one suits yours.
Currency note: 1 USD = Rs. 95.40 | 1 EUR = Rs. 109.10 as of July 8, 2026 (BookMyForex/Wise mid-market rates). Always verify current rates before financial planning.

Nexford University
What It Is
Nexford University is a fully online, US-accredited business school headquartered in Washington, D.C. Founded in 2019, it operates on a competency-based education model: you advance by demonstrating mastery of skills, not by sitting in a classroom for a fixed number of hours. Over 70% of Nexford students report recouping their degree costs before graduation.
Accreditation
Nexford holds two layers of accreditation that matter for an MBA:
- DEAC (Distance Education Accrediting Commission): Listed by the US Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency and recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). This is the institutional accreditation that validates Nexford as a university in the US framework.
- IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education): Specialized programmatic accreditation specific to the MBA. This is the business-education equivalent of AACSB for IACBE-member schools.
- CMI (Chartered Management Institute): Nexford's MBA is recognized by CMI, aligning its outcomes with UK professional management standards.
On DEAC vs AACSB: DEAC is a national accreditor in the US, not a regional accreditor. Most large US employers and universities recognize DEAC credentials. If you are targeting roles at organizations that specifically require AACSB, EQUIS, or AMBA accreditation, Nexford does not hold those. For most Indian professionals targeting Indian employers, multinational corporates, or career advancement in operations, strategy, and management, the DEAC+IACBE combination is sufficient. For a small subset of roles in global banking or consulting that explicitly screen for AACSB, it may not be.
Program Structure
The Nexford MBA consists of 12 courses: 9 core courses and 3 electives or a specialization track.
Specialization tracks available:
- MBA with AI Strategy.
- MBA with Finance (includes up to 7 CFI certifications at no extra cost).
- General MBA.
Learning model:
- Competency-based: mastery over seat time.
- Project-based with real company case studies from Tesla, Amazon, Apple, 3M, and Toyota.
- Paired with a Career Success Coach from day one of enrollment.
- Fully asynchronous: no fixed class times, suited to full-time working professionals.
Fees and Duration
The MBA uses a monthly subscription model. The total cost depends on how fast you complete the 12 courses.
Completion speed | Monthly fee | Total cost | INR equivalent |
| Accelerated (9 months) | USD 470/month | Approximately USD 3,300–4,230 | Approximately Rs. 3.15–4.04 lakh |
| Standard (18 months) | USD 470/month | Approximately USD 8,100 | Approximately Rs. 7.73 lakh |
The faster you complete, the less you pay. This model rewards motivated learners and working professionals who can move quickly.

Which One Fits Your Profile?
Choose Nexford if:
- You are a working professional who cannot pause your career.
- Your goal is a US-accredited MBA credential at the lowest possible cost and fastest possible timeline.
- You want to complete your MBA while earning, not instead of earning.
- You are targeting Indian employers, multinational operations roles, or career advancement in strategy, finance, or management where employer recognition of DEAC+IACBE is sufficient.
- You need flexibility above everything else.
Choose Rome Business School if:
- You want an in-person European MBA experience with campus life, European company partnerships, and a Rome-based network.
- You are targeting Italian, European, or luxury-adjacent industries (fashion, hospitality, and agribusiness) where RBS's subject rankings and European accreditation carry specific weight.
- You want a globally ranked institution that is QS-listed and CEO Magazine-ranked.
- You can invest Rs. 16 to Rs. 26 lakh in fees, and you see the European study experience as part of the return.
- You want access to the EU post-study job seeker permit after graduation.
If you are a working professional who needs an MBA credential to advance your career in India or at a multinational, and cost and flexibility are your primary constraints, Nexford delivers strong value at a fraction of the cost. If you want a campus-based European MBA with strong subject rankings, luxury industry connections, and the option to stay and work in Europe, Rome Business School is a meaningfully different and more appropriate choice.
