KTH India Scholarship 2026: Everything Indian Students Need to Know

KTH India Scholarship 2026: Everything Indian Students Need to Know

Picture this:
You, wrapped in three layers of Decathlon jackets, sipping hot chocolate in Stockholm, casually telling people, “Oh yeah, I study at KTH.”
Meanwhile, your parents are proudly bragging to every relative from Delhi to Dombivli that their child is now abroad, doing engineering in Sweden, at a very high level.

But hold on… studying abroad also comes with that tiny, heart-stopping detail called tuition fees. Well, here comes the plot twist:

Enter: The KTH India Scholarship

The scholarship was started in 2012 thanks to an anonymous donor. One student won it in 2024, and in 2026, again, only one winner will be selected from all of India.

It is extremely competitive. Your competition might be solving quantum physics for breakfast. But the reward is huge.

What This Scholarship Actually Gives You

  • Full Tuition Fee Coverage - For the entire two-year Master’s programme at KTH. A massive financial burden lifted off your shoulders.
  • Monthly Living Allowance (10 months a year) - This means you can stop converting every sandwich price from INR to SEK. You may even buy that IKEA lamp you keep saving on Pinterest. The allowance continues into the second year as long as your first-year results are satisfactory.

Important Dates: Screenshot-Worthy

  • Application Opens: 1 December 2025
  • Application Closes: 15 January 2026

How They Select Winners

The committee evaluates you based on:

  • Your academic grades (GPA or equivalent)
  • The ranking and reputation of your undergraduate university
  • Your motivation, work experience and extra-curricular activities
  • Geographic priority for students from Mumbai and Pune

A strong, well-rounded profile matters. Your GPA is important, but your story and achievements count too.

Bonus: You Can Apply for Both Scholarships

Indian students can apply for the KTH India Scholarship as well as the general KTH Scholarship. This gives you two opportunities to win funding.

Final Thoughts for Indian Students Planning Europe

If studying at one of Europe’s top technical universities is your dream, and you want to avoid taking on massive international tuition fees, this scholarship is your golden opportunity.
It is competitive. It is tough. But so are you.
