5 High-Paying Tech and Finance Internships Closing in June 2026

5 High-Paying Tech and Finance Internships Closing in June 2026

If your goal is a placement at a global company, a World Bank Group body, or a name-brand engineering lab, June is the month that matters, and most of these fill before the deadline is officially announced.

Currency note: 1 USD = Rs. 95.62 as of May 25, 2026 (BookMyForex). Always verify the current rate before making financial decisions.

1. World Bank ICSID Internship 2026

The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes is part of the World Bank Group in Washington, DC. It handles international investment arbitration cases between foreign investors and governments worldwide. For law students targeting a career in international arbitration or investment law, this position is one of the most credentialled placements available anywhere.

  • Deadline: June 30, 2026 (hard cutoff for the Fall cohort)
  • Location: Washington, DC, USA (on-site)
  • Duration: Fall cohort, typically 10 to 14 weeks starting September 2026
  • Stipend: USD 3,200 to USD 4,500 per month (approximately Rs. 3,05,984 to Rs. 4,30,290/month), paid at USD 20 to USD 28 per hour depending on whether you are an LLM or PhD candidate
  • Open to: LLM and PhD law students from any World Bank member country institution
  • Eligibility: A strong academic record in international law is required. Must be available for the Fall cohort starting September 2026. This opportunity is open to all World Bank member countries, including India. You must arrange your own work authorisation for the US placement

Why it stands out: ICSID is not a development bank. It is the world's primary forum for resolving international investment disputes between foreign investors and governments. Working there means direct exposure to active arbitration cases, not hypotheticals. For Indian law students pursuing international arbitration careers, an ICSID placement is a different tier from a corporate law firm internship. The June 30 deadline is firm with no rolling extension.

2. Amazon Fall Co-op and Internship 2026

Amazon's fall cohort covers software engineering, data science, product management, operations, and business roles across North America, Europe, and Asia, including India. Roles open across hubs simultaneously, and seats fill the moment regional managers select candidates. There is no single closing date. The June window is a ceiling, not an opening.

  • Deadline: Mid to late June 2026, rolling. Apply immediately
  • Location: US, CanadaEurope, and India (Bangalore and Hyderabad for Indian hub roles)
  • Duration: Typically 12 to 16 weeks for the Fall cohort
  • Stipend:
    • US and Canada hubs: USD 6,200 to USD 8,500 per month (approximately Rs. 5,92,844 to Rs. 8,12,770/month)
    • Indian hubs (Bangalore, Hyderabad): Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,45,000 per month depending on role and team
  • Open to: Undergraduate, master's, and PhD students in software engineering, data science, product management, operations, or business
  • Eligibility: International applicants are welcome across all hubs, subject to work authorization requirements for each location. Indian hub roles do not require US work authorization.

Why it stands out: The Indian hub option is underused by Indian students who focus entirely on the US placement. Bangalore and Hyderabad roles give you Amazon on your CV, competitive compensation, and experience on global teams without needing OPT, CPT, or a US visa. If US work rights are unavailable, apply to Indian hubs directly. If you have US work authorization, do not wait. Seats at US hubs fill weeks before the June ceiling.

3. IBM Research Internship 2026: AI and Cloud Infrastructure

IBM Research labs span the US, India, Israel, and Europe, with active work in AI, cloud infrastructure, and quantum computing. Unlike most big tech research internships that target only PhDs, IBM Research is accessible to undergraduate and master's students, making it one of the broader entry points into a world-class research environment on this list.

  • Deadline: Rolling; no fixed public deadline has been confirmed. Apply immediately as positions close when cohorts fill
  • Location: US, India (Bangalore), Israel, and Europe. Lab placement depends on your research match
  • Duration: Typically 12 weeks
  • Stipend: USD 6,000 to USD 8,800 per month (approximately Rs. 5,73,720 to Rs. 8,41,456/month) for US placements, calculated at USD 35 to USD 50 per hour. India lab stipends are structured at competitive local rates
  • Open to: Undergraduate, master's, and PhD students with strong technical backgrounds internationally
  • Eligibility: Strong background in AI, machine learning, cloud systems, or quantum computing required. Must meet specific technical prerequisites listed in each role posting

Why it stands out: IBM Research is one of the few top-tier research labs where undergraduates and master's students compete for placements alongside PhDs. The Bangalore lab means the work authorization barrier that blocks most Indian students from US tech internships does not apply here. Positions fill as cohorts are confirmed; apply before other deadlines on this list arrive.

4. Apple Hardware and Software Fall Co-ops 2026

Apple's Fall co-op program covers hardware engineering, software engineering, machine learning, and product design. Most roles are at Apple Park in Cupertino, with some international office placements. Co-op participants receive fully corporate-subsidised accommodation on top of hourly compensation.

  • Deadline: Mid to late June 2026, rolling. Apply immediately
  • Location: Apple Park, Cupertino, California (primary). Some international office placements available
  • Duration: Typically 6 months for co-op, shorter for standard internship roles
  • Stipend: USD 6,400 to USD 9,200 per month (approximately Rs. 6,12,596 to Rs. 8,79,704/month), calculated at USD 40 to USD 58 per hour. Corporate-subsidised accommodation included for all co-op participants
  • Open to: Undergraduate, master's, and PhD students worldwide in hardware engineering, software engineering, machine learning, or product design
  • Eligibility: Must be able to meet work authorization requirements for the US or chosen international office. Applications are open to both domestic and international students

Why it stands out: The accommodation subsidy is the figure most people skip past. At Bay Area rental rates, company-subsidized housing during a co-op adds Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 1,50,000 per month to the effective value of the placement on top of the hourly rate. Apple's hardware and product design roles are among the most applied-to co-op positions globally, which means the rolling deadline is not a formality. Managers begin reviewing immediately and close roles as soon as they find their candidates.

5. Tesla Autopilot and Embedded Systems Internship 2026

Tesla's engineering internship program focuses on Autopilot, embedded systems, software engineering, and energy technology. Most roles are at Tesla's US engineering facilities. The program runs on a rolling system with no fixed application window. Once a cohort is full, it closes.

  • Deadline: Late June 2026, rolling system cutoff. Apply early
  • Location: Tesla engineering facilities in the US (Palo Alto, Austin, and Fremont). Some international positions available
  • Duration: Typically 12 to 16 weeks for Fall placement
  • Stipend: USD 5,500 to USD 8,500 per month (approximately Rs. 5,25,910 to Rs. 8,12,770/month). Includes zero-premium medical benefits during the internship period
  • Open to: Students worldwide currently enrolled in a full-time university degree program in software engineering, embedded systems, electrical engineering, or automotive technology
  • Eligibility: Must be actively enrolled in a degree program and returning to studies directly after the internship ends. Must meet work authorisation requirements for the US or your placement location

Note: Tesla internships do not include employee stock options. Equity is reserved for full-time employees. Compensation is base pay plus medical coverage only.

Why it stands out: Tesla's Autopilot and embedded systems work is among the most technically demanding in the automotive and AI sectors globally. For engineering students interested in autonomous systems, ADAS, or real-time embedded software, the depth of technical exposure here is difficult to find at any other company. The zero-premium medical benefit is also genuine: most US tech internships include insurance with a co-pay structure. Tesla's zero-premium means no out-of-pocket medical costs during the placement.

How to Build an Application That Actually Gets Read

Knowing the deadline is step one. Knowing what the application committee is actually looking for is step two. These five programs are competitive, and they filter out generic applications fast.

Lead with specificity, not enthusiasm. Every Amazon, Apple, and Tesla application that says "I am passionate about technology and excited to contribute" goes into the same pile. What gets a callback is specificity: saying, "I built a real-time object detection pipeline using YOLOv8 during my final-year project, reducing inference time by 40% on edge hardware" tells the recruiter something concrete. Quantify everything you can. Vague impact statements are invisible.

Tailor your resume to each role's keywords. Amazon, IBM, Apple, and Tesla all use applicant tracking systems that filter resumes before a human sees them. Pull the exact language from the job description and mirror it in your resume where it genuinely applies to your experience. "Edge AI deployment" and "embedded firmware development" mean something specific to these systems. Generic phrases like "worked on machine learning projects" do not pass the filter.

For the ICSID application, your writing sample should be the application itself. ICSID selects for legal reasoning and writing quality above everything else. Your cover letter and any submitted writing sample need to demonstrate that you can construct a clear, well-reasoned legal argument in plain English. Do not write a generic expression of interest. Write about a specific case, a treaty provision, or a legal question in investment arbitration that you have actually thought about.

Use LinkedIn to find past interns before you apply. For Amazon, Apple, and Tesla specifically, searching LinkedIn for "[Company] intern India 2024 2025" will surface former interns from Indian universities. A targeted message asking one question about their experience converts at a higher rate than most people expect. A referral from a current or former intern at Amazon can move your application from the general pile to a reviewed stack at several teams.

Apply before you think you are ready. The most common reason strong candidates miss these windows is waiting to polish the application further. At rolling-deadline programs, a good application submitted today beats a perfect application submitted in three weeks because the seats will be gone. Submit what you have, then follow up if needed.

Knowing which of these matches your academic background, your work authorization situation, and your five-year career goal is worth a proper conversation before you start submitting.
