MBA in Milan: The 2026 Guide for Indian Students

MBA in Milan: The 2026 Guide for Indian Students

Milan is not just Italy's financial capital. It is the global headquarters of the luxury industry, Europe's most active fashion and design ecosystem, and home to every major financial institution's Italian operations. For an MBA student, that context is not incidental. It is a curriculum.

The city has two of Europe's most globally recognized business schools, SDA Bocconi and MIP Politecnico di Milano, both offering full-time English-medium MBA programs with strong placement records in consulting, finance, luxury, and technology. Compared to the US and UK, MBA fees in Milan are significantly lower, and Ferrari, Lamborghini, Gucci, Prada, UniCredit, and McKinsey all recruit directly from Milan's top business schools.

Currency note: 1 EUR = ₹111.25 as of June 2026. Always verify current rates before financial planning.

Why Milan for an MBA

Industry ecosystem: Milan sits at the intersection of fashion and luxury, finance, manufacturing, and design. Milan is home to the headquarters and substantial operations of Hermès, Moncler, Valentino, Richemont, Prada, Gucci, Pirelli, and UniCredit.

Cost advantage: A top US MBA costs USD 100,000 to USD 200,000. A top UK MBA costs GBP 40,000 to GBP 100,000. SDA Bocconi costs EUR 82,000. POLIMI GSoM (formerly MIP) costs EUR 54,000. ESCP Business School MBA costs EUR 57,000 to EUR 57,900. At comparable or better European rankings, the financial case for Milan remains strong.

Post-MBA salaries: EUR 50,000 to EUR 92,000 per year (approximately Rs. 53.50 lakh to Rs. 98.44 lakh). Amazon, Deloitte, PwC, Ferrari, and Luxottica all recruit directly from Italian MBA programs.

Language: All four programs are fully taught in English. Italian is not required to apply or study.
