One memorable experience I had with a group of people working on a machine learning project for plant disease detection. This was a collaborative effort with three of my colleagues during a university research competition. Additionally, our goal was to develop a deep learning model that could classify plant disease using image processing techniques. So, we started this project about a year ago and most of our work was done in the university lab and through online meetings. Since all of us had different strengths, we were good at coding and other skills in data analysis and research, we divided the task efficiently. My role was primarily focused on developing and optimizing the deep learning models particularly using ResNet and faster R-CNN for the image classification. Throughout the project, we faced several challenges such as datasets, inconsistencies, model overfitting, and performance tuning. However, by the work as a team, brainstorming solutions, and running multiple experiments, we were able to improve the accuracy of our models significantly. After weeks of hard work, we finally presented our findings to the panel of judges and were thrilled when our project was recognized as one of the best submissions in the competition. In conclusion, the experience was incredibly rewarding because it not only enhanced my technical skills but also taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and problem solving. The sense of achievement I felt while collaborating with like-minded individuals was truly fulfilling. Additionally, knowing that our project had the potential to help farmers detect plant diseases early and improve crop yield made it even more meaningful. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience. I would love to work on similar AI-driven projects with talented people in the future.

Follow up questions

What specific challenges did you face during the project?
We encountered several challenges, including issues with dataset quality, model overfitting, and tuning the performance of our deep learning models. Each of these required us to brainstorm solutions and run multiple experiments to improve our results.

How did you divide tasks among your team members?
We assessed each member's strengths and skills. For instance, I focused on developing deep learning models, while others handled coding, data analysis, and research. This division allowed us to work efficiently and leverage our individual expertise.

What did you learn about teamwork from this experience?
This experience taught me the importance of communication and collaboration. Working together allowed us to tackle challenges effectively and share ideas, which ultimately led to a successful project. It reinforced the value of diverse perspectives in problem-solving.

It was about two years ago, I still remember it very fresh in mind. I went for a skydiving activity in Dubai, in the Palm Jumeirah, with a group of people from different nationalities, different countries and different places. This was one of the most thrilling moments that I have experienced because skydiving was something that was part of my bucket list and I always wanted to give it a try and achieve it as part of my dream. As I mentioned, I did it with people of different age groups, they were mostly adults of course.

Follow up questions

What motivated you to try skydiving?
I have always been an adventure seeker and skydiving was on my bucket list. The thrill of jumping from a plane and experiencing free fall was something I dreamed of. I wanted to challenge myself and push my limits, and skydiving seemed like the perfect way to do that.

How did you feel before and after the skydiving experience?
Before the jump, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was a surreal moment standing at the edge of the plane. After the jump, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and exhilaration. It was one of the most liberating experiences of my life.

Did you make any new friends during the skydiving experience?
Yes, I did! The group was diverse, and we shared our experiences and fears before the jump. Afterward, we celebrated together, and I exchanged contact information with a few of them. It was great to bond over such an adrenaline-pumping activity.

This was 2 years back and I still remember vividly how hard it was to plan this trip because it is very common for trips to get cancelled but we however managed to pull this off. We chose Munnar because Munnar will be full of greenery and good amount of flora and fauna. It will give a very soothing effect for people who get there and there were many good reviews from tourists across the world about their experiences in Munnar. It was really hard to get our leaves for this trip because we are posted in different departments in our college and planning this trip was not really a very easy task to be very honest and I am not a very good planner actually. So however we pulled off this trip and we really enjoyed there, we went to doing many adventurous activities, we went on jeep rides, we climbed the tallest peak in the world which is called as Kolkommalai and I would say I would pay even millions to experience such a very soothing feeling in my life.

So, I vividly remember practicing, choreographing a dance with my cousins and family members as it was a wedding of one of my cousins, like in last year, December. So it actually took us a whole month for everyone to learn the steps and perform the dance exactly on the beat. It was such a fun experience. I really enjoyed it, like my cousins from different cities and countries were learning the steps on the video call and I remember teaching them everything like, no you don't have to do this, do it this way or do it that way and moreover it was actually a very fun experience as I had to, like I got a chance to bond with everyone through this experience. All of my cousins were so excited about it, like and they really, really gave their best when the time of the performance came up. I remember, we were so nervous before the actual dance and actually in the end we just gently pulled the groom and bride on the dance floor to dance with us and we actually literally forgot about the practice, the dance, the steps we have created in our mind and we just fully enjoyed it to ourselves. It was so good that I still remember about it and that's etched into my memory.

Follow up questions

How did you feel while teaching your cousins the dance steps?
I felt a mix of excitement and responsibility. It was great to share something I love with my cousins, and I wanted to ensure they understood the steps. Teaching them also made me feel more connected to them, especially since we were all in different locations.

What challenges did you face while choreographing the dance?
One challenge was coordinating everyone’s schedules for practice sessions, especially with cousins in different time zones. Additionally, ensuring everyone learned the steps correctly over video calls was tricky, but we managed to overcome these hurdles with patience and teamwork.

What did you learn from this experience of dancing together?
I learned the importance of teamwork and communication. It was a reminder that shared experiences can strengthen family bonds. I also realized that sometimes, letting go of perfection and just enjoying the moment can lead to the best memories.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Something that I did with a group of people would be bunking class, I know it's not something that I should be proud of, but I really enjoyed doing that at that time, and still miss those days. So, what I did was we were having our board exams going on, and it's really tough, the pressure upon us, and I was staying in a hostel, so there was this friend of mine who was very close to, right now as well, this happened seven years, or six years ago, like we were really close, we were having our exams and studying was going on, and we had to study, and our hostel warden really trusted us, so she was asking us, why didn't you guys go and study in the library, and we were like, oh, okay, sure, we were sitting, we were actually not planning, we were not having any plans of bunking, we were just sitting and studying, and then she asked us just to go to the library, and we were like, yeah, we'll go, we just take the bag, and as we were walking outside, we were like, why don't we go for a movie, and it was just sudden plans, I, what I miss with her, that best friend of mine, her name is Shina, by the way, is that we always have plans put on at that moment, and we just decide to go with it, I miss those days, I really do, and yeah, so we went for the movie, actually we, it was our first time going for a movie in that place, we were just 15 or 16 at that time, and then we turned on the Google Maps, then we were walking according to what the Google Maps showed, and then we suddenly was just walking, and when he looked in front of us, we could see a big cliff, and then we asked the auto driver, it was fun, funny.

So, the project was based on renewable energy and we had to build a setup for that project and there was a presentation. So, we both of us together worked on it. We built a setup or we can say it as a model by which things are easy to represent in front of our tutors. Furthermore, to be honest, we took a month to prepare. Climb down of the mountain was an experience of lifetime. It was then that I realized the value of life. I had to just go from one mountain to the other through just swinging myself through a rope tied across. And that was a dangerous experience where we just give all in and that is what life is. To give all in and just trust on the higher power to just sail you throughout the boat. Being an adventurous person myself, I like to engage in such activities because it gives me exposure and brings me closer to the nature. Helping me just de-stress myself from the usual life that I have that is work. And then I get to do such activities making me feel alive and bring that energy in my life back.

Band 6-7

I am here to talk about a trip which was planned and executed last year with my friends. It was a trip to a theme park which is located at Kerala. The name of the theme park is Fantasy Park. Before the day of the trip, we have planned a lot of things and packed every sort of things like dresses, snacks and everything we want. And we took a camera also for capturing some memorable moments. And the next day the trip has officially started. And then we had a very smooth bike trip which gave us a pretty beautiful experience. On the way, there is a tunnel which is the Asia's second largest tunnel. We experienced it in our direct ride. It is our first time to travel that long in a bike. So, a lot of people have fun on that. During our ride, we had our lunch in a hotel called... If I remember correctly, the hotel name is Monavalli. We had a pretty good lunch. It is a Kerala lunch we ate for the first time. Then we entered the theme park. The ticket price is about 900. There we had a lot of lovable moments. We have done astonishing rides which put a tremendous pressure in our stomach and other parts of the body. It is quite a beautiful experience. After that, we had our tea and snacks in a nearby tea shop. Then we gathered around and clicked some photos and returned to our hotel. That's it.
