So, it was in 2024 when we were extremely lucky to be able to witness the marriage of Anand Dambani and where we had Arijit Singh perform for the final event of the show and it was so mesmerizing to witness that. We were very glad and honored to be able to witness that moment and Arijit Singh when he entered the stage, when he was on the stage, when performing, we were just mesmerized. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and a vibe of positivity where everyone was cheering and dancing and singing. We were at a place where everyone was just lost in a trance of Arijit's vocals and the fact that Arijit was so amazing and it was just a very good experience. When Arijit actually went on to play the electric guitar, the vibe shifted from a calm, peaceful vocalist to a rock star band and it was amazing to witness that. We were so stunned and so hypnotized by his aura that we were totally speechless and were just lost in the thought of being this lucky.

What other performances have you attended that left a strong impression on you?
I've attended several performances, but one that stands out was a local theater production. The actors were incredibly talented, and the storyline was so engaging that I felt emotionally connected throughout the show. It was a different experience compared to concerts, but equally memorable.

How do you think live performances differ from recorded music?
Live performances have a unique energy that recorded music often lacks. The interaction between the artist and the audience creates a special atmosphere. You can feel the emotions and spontaneity in live shows, which makes them more impactful and memorable compared to listening to a studio recording.

What do you think makes a performance truly unforgettable?
An unforgettable performance combines talent, stage presence, and audience engagement. When an artist connects with the audience emotionally and creates a vibrant atmosphere, it leaves a lasting impression. Unique elements like surprise guest appearances or special effects can also enhance the experience.

I would like to share an experience about a play that I had seen at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai. This is situated in south of Mumbai, a very posh locality, respected and beautiful architecture. So as I entered, I had booked shows for a play called as Hera Pheri. Hera Pheri was a play that revolved around three individuals who are unknown to each other but forced to share a common roof because of poverty. As I said, they were broke and they intended to find a faster route to make money without confining to illegal means. However, they are stuck in tough situations and the play revolves around how do they get out of this. The reason I liked it was the comic timing, the natural acting and the dialogue and script of it. When you look at it as a single individual, it is not fun. However, when you are along with people who are sharing ideas, it appears to be so funny. There were a few times when I thought that I could relate to what was happening and that really touched upon me. To give an example...

When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

During my college days, there was inter-college competition based on arts held at the university level. The venue for the program was Thiruvananthapuram and many students from different colleges participated in the event. So one of the programs which we all look forward is the drama. It is the performance which lands the greatest points. So there is a saying that whichever college wins for the drama, they will be victorious throughout this festival. Therefore, drama is something which we all anticipate and look forward to. I am personally attached to this because the main protagonist is my friend and I have seen how much hard work he has done to make his role into perfection. So the story revolved around a hospital area where there was a bedridden patient who used to hallucinate and he had a companion who used to soothe him during his devastating times. My friend was the companion and he was able to portray all the emotions to the audience. The judges were highly pleased by his acting performance and he was also awarded the Best Actor award coming under the drama category. It is a mesmerizing experience where we think we are actually in action.

Follow up questions

What aspects of the drama made it memorable for you?
The drama was memorable due to its emotional depth and the way it connected with the audience. My friend's portrayal of the companion was particularly impactful, as he conveyed a range of emotions that resonated with everyone. The storyline was also engaging, making it a captivating experience.

How did the audience react to the performance?
The audience was completely absorbed in the performance. There were moments of laughter and tears, and you could feel the tension in the air during the emotional scenes. At the end, there was a loud applause, and many people expressed their admiration for the actors, especially my friend.

Have you participated in any performances yourself?
Yes, I participated in a few performances during my college days, mainly in supporting roles. While I enjoyed acting, I always admired the lead actors for their ability to carry the story. It was a great learning experience that helped me appreciate the hard work behind every performance.

I was really shocked that he could dance that well and the overall ambience of the auditorium and other stuff were very good. The individualities of each and every student were being expressed out loud and it was just a mind-blowing performance to me. He performed it in his school as I mentioned and it was just great and besides that, I really liked that performance because of the fact that he was my brother to be very honest. Like I was judging him on his level not on a global level or comparing him to other kids. Overall, how I know him, I really enjoyed watching his dance as overall for a long time he's been practicing the same dance for a long long time and I saw the improvement in his dance, his moves, his steps so that was a great improvement in my opinion. Lastly, on annual day, my brother has danced on the song which is related to Maharashtrian tradition and culture, so it was on Shivaji Maharaj and the Mughals which they have, there was an incident where Mughals were against Shivaji Maharaj and this was paired with this kit and it was in auditorium in Bhusi area which is very much well known for having functions like this and let's say even though he is not very much fond of dancing, still he gave his best and that was the best performance of my life as while dancing he was searching for me in the auditorium seats where is my sister, so I found it very amazing and fascinating that he

The song was about how the singer felt in their childhood days so it naturally brought back a lot of memories for me and why I really enjoyed the performance is that it brought me peace. So, recently I've attended one of the dance performances which was performed by my senior, his name is Rahul. He's a lovely senior who used to help me every time and his hobby was to dance, freestyling. I was very interested in dance as well, so I was there to cheer him up. Once I've been there, I've seen a lot of artists dancing around and I also wanted to be a part of it but I couldn't because of my work. But then looking at them felt like I was on stage and dancing along with them. It was a very delightful experience as every time there was a performance, I used to be a participant instead of an audience. But this time, it was a different experience for me and it felt like I was missing out. But then, once I saw my senior dancing, it felt like maybe I wouldn't be able to reach that level. But then after a few minutes, it felt like I should have given it a try because no one knows their potential until they try it out. I loved the performance and it went very well. I congratulated him at the end and next time I'm definitely going to try it myself. This is the performance which I enjoyed and I would like to go for a few more performances.

Band 6-7

The performance which I loved in my school days was definitely a classical dance because I love to explore vivid varieties of performances. So back then I was a great dancer and I have a lot of fun doing that. So basically it was our 12th board and we were unfortunately were not able to perform because of our studies. So all the teachers were very reeled at that time and told us that your performance will not be conducted and instead your colleagues or your friends from the junior classes will do the same. So we were very excited and thrilled because the performance we like were being able to do by our juniors. So that day when the performance was trying to get up and started they performed on my favorite song which is Tanisha and they did the classical dance and they showered their love by depicting my kind of dance which is Bharatnatyam and they flaunted so well on the stage that it got me goosebumps instantly. The dance was so mesmerizing and beautiful. The scenic beauties of Tanisha, the ideal, the architectural work, the tradition that they outcraved from that dance was very beautiful and it was about the moon. I loved each and every part of it because they showed the importance of the classical dance which is not that famous at that time and people would always like keen to do like pop or Bollywood dance but instead they performed which is very trendy.

Band 6-7

Almost everyone in this world would love to learn a new skill or a new art in their lifetime. I'd like to share about my experience regarding an art that I have learned and the performance that I have given. The performance was a Kuchipudi dance. I have learned Kuchipudi dance for over 4 years. It was started when I was in 7th grade which continued till I was in 10th. My sister who lives in another state and she lives in Bangalore, she is in dance as well. She is a dance teacher over there. She is also a very good dance performer who has even won certain medals and recognition in the field of Kuchipudi. Furthermore, I have always looked up to a famous dancer Supriya Shekhar. I have known her through the social media, I have went all through her profile and I found her very amusing. She is a gracious dancer and I wish to be her someday. It was then after 4 years that I have realized that performance really lets us adore the art that we have learned more. I have taken up this opportunity of performing in front of 50 people in a temple nearby a house. At first I was reluctant about it but my sister really motivated and inspired me to take up this. She is the example of the famous dancer I have mentioned. At the last I have loved it. I have loved performing before all the people. I have loved the appreciation. It allowed me to push for better. It made me a really good dancer from there. It has helped me find myself and transform my life in a better way.
