I find the Mona Lisa particularly beautiful. This is because it's a magnificent painting. I admire the artwork, the brush strokes used, the style, the expression of the woman who is in the painting. It was made by Leonardo da Vinci during the Italian renaissance and it shows the new expressionism, the intricacy of painting and it's something which I can look at for days because I still marvel at the excellence of it, how it was made and so called the beauty, how it was painted, the background, the subtle background, the dark background, the fact that it looks so lifelike. You do it as a painting, it looks like a real woman. It's also something worth thinking about whether the woman in the painting, who was she in real, was she a real person, how does she smile and where did she smile, her expression, etc.

So, I live near a park. It's a 1 km long park and one can walk 500 m on each side and everyday I see trees on it. The way the leaves ruffle with the wind and it makes the whistling kind of sound, it amazes me. So, I like the flowers on it. It's currently spring season so I can see lot of flowers in Bangalore city. And the time when it's most beautiful is definitely sunrise or sunset. Not exactly sunset but couple of hours before sunset and couple of hours after sunrise. It makes me wonder about the pace of the world which we currently live in. It makes me stop and ponder for a second on what humans are really created for. It makes me reflect on myself. At the same time, the beautiful colors mimic the chaos of the world which we live in. While I am not a person who usually admires the beauty in artworks or objects particularly, there was a time when I had visited the Hotel Oberoi in Gurgaon for an office event. While I was particularly there for the office event, I felt like I should just move around and see what the place has to offer. There, I saw a painting by a very famous artist called Sunaina Khera. When I saw the painting, it was very intriguing. So as I already mentioned, I am not a person who usually pays a lot of attention to artwork, specifically paintings. So I just stood there for a minute, I saw the name of the artist and of course, being the globalized generation and the younger generation, I took out my phone and I just googled the artist. So she turned out to be a very famous one and while I was looking through her profile on Instagram and on LinkedIn as well, this painting had a hold over me. It was made with a beautiful red and black color which had a theme of the universe. The painting actually explained how the universe is viewed by that artist and how it is made of only two colors, black and red. For her, for the artist Sunaina Khera, the universe is not black and white. So it's her perception of saying that things are neither black nor white, they are somewhat grey and that is represented by red in that particular picture. It was a beautiful painting and I happened to get a small piece of it after talking to the artist for like a while over call and she gave me a very small piece of it.

Follow up questions

What emotions did the painting evoke in you?
The painting evoked a sense of curiosity and wonder in me. It made me reflect on the complexities of life and how things are not always black and white. The use of red and black colors created a deep emotional connection, making me appreciate the artist's perspective on the universe.

How do you think art influences people's perceptions?
Art has a profound influence on people's perceptions by challenging their views and encouraging them to think differently. It can evoke emotions, provoke thoughts, and inspire creativity. In the case of Sunaina Khera's painting, it made me realize that our understanding of the universe can be multifaceted.

Have you ever created any art yourself?
I have dabbled in some art during my school days, mainly drawing and painting. However, I never pursued it seriously. I admire those who can express their thoughts and feelings through art, as it requires a unique talent and perspective that I find fascinating.

I really find this Funko Pop that I own of a television show's villain called James Moriarty. Basically a Funko Pop is a small cartoon-like plastic figure of any character of a movie or a book or a show. It has this large head and very small body and feet. It's holding this little apple that is carved out with letters IOU which is based on this really popular scene in that show. I find it very fascinating how it stands because of its amusingly large head. One would assume that it won't be able to balance itself but it somehow does. I find that really nice. It's sitting on my shelf so I look at it every time I'm around that space. A friend got it for me from Australia so it also adds an emotional value to this object because it reminds me of him. His love and care for me that he brought me this little piece from his travels. Other than that, it's made of plastic like I said and it has these really cute features which makes him look less like a villain and more like a cute, cuddly teddy bear. That's an object that I find particularly beautiful.

Follow up questions

What other objects do you find beautiful and why?
I also find my grandmother's vintage jewelry beautiful. Each piece has a story and represents a different era. The intricate designs and the craftsmanship are remarkable, and they remind me of her and the family history, making them even more special.

How do you think objects can hold emotional value?
Objects can hold emotional value through memories associated with them, like gifts from loved ones or items from significant life events. They can evoke feelings of nostalgia and connection, reminding us of people, places, or experiences that are important to us.

Do you think beauty is subjective? Why or why not?
Yes, beauty is subjective because it varies from person to person based on personal experiences, culture, and preferences. What one person finds beautiful, another may not, as beauty often lies in the eye of the beholder and is influenced by individual tastes.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Recently I particularly picked an object called a singing bowl. It looks very unique and in Buddhism they used it for meditating. It produces some sounds like high frequency that makes our mind feel very pleasant and de-stressful. The object is engraved with more historical images like Buddha's and Shiva's shaman chakra. Moreover it is made up of copper, sorry bronze. So the sound of a singing bowl is quite a wonderful thing. When you meditate you can use it. Along with the bowl they have given a wooden stick. At the end it is wrapped with a rubber strip. So if we hit the bowl with one corner and we have to give a pressure under the tip of the bowl on top. When we circulate it the frequency is travelled on what the wave we are rotating the bowl means. The frequency also travels through the operations. So if the frequency is annoying means we don't get a perfect result. They don't justify using this for meditation purpose. It's a wonderful thing.

A one object I find particularly beautiful is a handcrafted wooden jewellery box that I had received as a gift from my family friend. It's not something very large or expensive, but the design and craftsmanship are truly impressive. The box was made of dark polished wood and it topped this card with delicate floral patterns. It also has tiny brass hinges and a velvet lined interior. What I loved the most is the attention to the details. You can tell that it was made with a lot of care and skill. It has a slightly vintage feel, almost like something you'd find in a very old antique shop. I kept it on my shelf and every time I see it, it attaches a feel of elegance to the room. I find it beautiful, not just because of how it looks, but because it's a sense of history and uniqueness. In a world full of mass-produced items, sometimes handmade feels extra special.

This is the beauty of this particular, this pot and this was the gift given by my sister and not only, not only this was a gift, but I think a heart, a piece of her heart she took out from her inside and she put all her energy and efforts to make it more beautiful and

From what I remember, it was made by artisans in this small village of Odisha known as Ramganjpur. It is famous for all the art that they do. In this small village, there are 15 to 20 homes that only make art and they are supported by the government of India. Some do hand modelling, some make sculptures, some of them make paintings, miniature paintings etc. Some do the metal work from which my friend got me this beautiful brooch.
