Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering for a duration of 6 months between 1 October 2024 and 31 March 2025.

Duration and Place of Fellowship

• The fellowship will last for 6 months and take place at the AGH University of Krakow, UNESCO AGH Chair (A. Mickiewicza Ave 30, PL 30-059 Krakow, Poland).
• Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering for a duration of 6 months between 1 October 2024 and 31 March 2025.

Benefits

• Free tuition and access to the university facilities based on the local regulations.
• Monthly allowance of PLN 1800 or INR 38,000 for BSc degree students and PLN 2200 or INR 45,000 for MSc degree students. All living expenses and accommodation in Poland are to be borne by the fellow with this allowance.
• A one-time special allowance of PLN 1800 or INR 38,000 for BSc degree students and PLN 2200 or INR 45,000 for MSc degree students to be paid upon arrival in Poland (for 6 months stay period). 

Facilities Offered by UNESCO

• International travel expenses (by the most direct, economical route): from the beneficiary’s country to and from Poland will be covered by UNESCO;
• Health insurance for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit: UNESCO fellowship holders may be covered by a health insurance policy, taken-out by the Organization for the duration of fellowship. UNESCO will subscribe the health insurance on behalf of awarded fellows and cover the cost incurred.;
• One-time special pocket allowance of USD 120 or INR 10,000.

Eligibility Criteria

• Participant age should not be more than 30-32 years of age.
• Be proficient in reading and writing in English.
• Participants should be from one of the eligible countries. Indians are eligible to apply.
• A holder of at least a BS, BSc Degree or MS, MSc.

How to apply?

• Read Annex II (Terms and Conditions) and Annex III (List of fields of researches & projects and their respective criteria) for the 2024 edition of UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships in Engineering.

• Prepare your application, including the following supporting documents to the National Commissions of your country of Origin as mentioned in the Annex II:
  • UNESCO fellowships application form
  • A copy of the identity photo of the applicant
  • Certified copies (in English) of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree/ PhD obtained
  • UNESCO certificate of language knowledge
  • Two letters of recommendation
• Submit your application with all the supporting documents mentioned above to the National Commission for UNESCO of your country.
