How to send your IELTS score to Australian universities?

IELTS allows you to submit your Australia IELTS scores to at least five universities of your choice. You may select these universities during IELTS registration.   

Here are the steps that you can follow to register for IELTS and how to send Australia IELTS score to Australian universities after the test:

  1. Visit the website of the British Council. 
  2. Click on the ‘Take an exam’ and ‘IELTS’ options. 
  3. On the right-hand side, click on ‘IELTS registration.
  4. Click on ‘Register for IELTS” now.
  5.  You will find the test dates after filling in all the required details. Then, on the next page, you will see the test date availability
  6. You can choose from the available dates and click on ‘Apply’.
  7. Read the terms carefully, mark them in the text box next, and click ‘Continue’.
  8. You will be asked to complete your personal details on the next page. 
  9. At last, you will find an option to send your IELTS scores to other institutions.
  10. Click ‘Yes’ to send your result.

Ensure you filled out all the information correctly; you can cross-check if everything is correct. The test centre will send copies of your IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) free of cost to the top five universities you’ve selected after completing the form.

After taking the IELTS, you have 13 days to get your TRF. You can pick up your TRF from your neighbourhood IDP IELTS India office after the results are announced. It is advised that you bring the identification document you used to register.

Additionally, sending a hard copy scorecard to universities takes five to ten business days, whereas sending your IELTS results online to colleges only takes about five business days. The electronic transmission of the TRF from the IELTS test site to the universities of your choice is free of charge.

However, there is an additional fee of INR 250 for each additional university if you want to send your IELTS results to more than five institutions. Additionally, this fee is required if you want to mail your results to the universities you’ve selected physically.

Australia has no “passing” IELTS score; each university has its own IELTS band score requirement for Australia. Your Australia IELTS score may fall below the necessary range.
