- Charles Darwin University (CDU) came into existence in 2003 with the collaboration of Northern Territory University, the Menzies School of Health Research, and Centralian College.
- The public university has five campuses - Casuarina, Palmerstone, Katherine, Alice Springs and Sydney. Being one of the highly ranked universities nationally, CDU is a member of the Innovative Research Universities.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate programs are provided in Arts, Business, Education, Management, Engineering, Psychology, Nursing, Midwifery, Tourism, Humanities and Information Technology.
