  • Established in 1967, the University of Canberra is a public institute in Canberra, Australia, with six faculties: Health, Science and Technology, Arts and Design, Business, Government and Law, and Education. 
  • It offers over 200 undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in disciplines like Design Strategies, Politics and International Relations, Sport Management and Journalism. Besides Canberra, the University of Canberra has campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland. 
  • The library, located in Building 8, houses numerous collections, books, journals, articles, archives and e-publications that students can access. There are different research centers and institutes on campus like the Institute for Applied Ecology, Centre for Sustainable Communities and The News and Media Research Centre. 
  • Australian and international students can enroll in UC College and pursue English language and other courses to prepare for a degree program. Data Analytics Fundamentals, Digital Marketing Strategy and Salesforce Administrator are some of the short UC Pro courses which allow students to get job-ready. 
  • Through the University of Canberra's virtual campus, students get to attend online classes, interact with professors and peers, access academic resources and more. Furthermore, the university's study abroad program allows students to spend a semester or two at one of its 50 partner institutions worldwide, participate in exchanges, study tours, international internships and short programs.
  •  Financial aid options available to the students include scholarships, bursaries, loans and grants like HECS-HELP loans, Canberra Indigenous Scholarship, Lorna May Award, Real Futures Grant etc. With over 2,500 beds, the University of Canberra provides student accommodation in studios, apartments, and unsuited /shared rooms at residences like Cooper Lodge, UC Lodge, Campus West and others.

Admissions to PG

Even if you have not completed your undergraduate degree, you may be qualified for certain postgraduate courses. If you have the following non-tertiary qualifications plus paid work experience or professional memberships, the institution will accept your qualifications as equal to a bachelor's degree for postgraduate admission. Among them are:

  • Having a professional membership or an advanced diploma or associate degree, as well as 4 years of full-time paid managerial or professional work experience.
  • Obtaining a diploma along with eight years of full-time paid administrative or professional experience.
  • A professional membership plus ten years of full-time paid administrative or professional work experience or membership.

Your Year 1 Semester 1 programme may include placements in the faculties of health and education.

  • All overseas students at the University of Canberra are guaranteed on-campus housing.
  • From twelve-bed dormitories to one-bedroom flats, UC provides a variety of self-catered choices.
  • With a variety of room styles, UC offers four halls: UC Lodge, Cooper Lodge, Weeden Lodge, and the University of Canberra Village.
  • Beds, a dining table with chairs, a television, a study desk, a bookshelf, and a chair are all included in the room.
