NUS at rank 6 costs less than half of Columbia at rank 8, and its LLM is built specifically for international lawyers who already hold a foreign law degree. For an Indian LLB graduate, that combination of ranking, cost, and program design often matters more than the raw number.

The US Juris Doctor (JD) is a three-year first professional law degree meant for students who have not yet studied law, and most JD programs do not let you practice law outside the US without further exams.
