Which are the top 3 universities in England, known for their MBAs and how do they compare amongst each other?

2 min read

Student’s Context: I’m from India and when I was studying my undergrad I went for a summer to LSE. Ever since, I’ve been wanting to do a masters in England. However, aside from LBS, I am not that informed in which others MBAs are great in England.

Expert Opinion

Based on QS Global MBA Rankings, below are the three top MBA-offering universities:

  1. London Business School (LBS)
    • QS Global MBA Rank: 5
    • Strengths: Consulting, research, global prestige.
    • Salary outcomes after MBA are typically high.
    • LBS gives you premium career outcomes.
  2. Cambridge Judge Business School
    • QS Global MBA Rank: 7
    • Focus: ROI, entrepreneurship skills, and innovation.
    • ROI is high, 94% of MBA graduates received a job offer within 3 months.
    • Offers global placements with high remuneration.
  3. Oxford Saïd Business School
    • QS Global MBA Rank: 19 globally and 3 in the UK
    • ROI: 98%
    • Employability: 95%
    • Focuses on ethical leadership, subject-area excellence, and experiential learning through practical knowledge.

Counsellor’s experience with similar scenario

One student from Bengaluru applied for an MBA in LBS in the first round. He received the offer after clearing his interview. After MBA, he joined a top MNC in the UK itself and is now earning a typically high package.

Recommended Next Steps

Steps to be taken:

  1. Firstly and very importantly, check the eligibility criteria or entry requirements, especially if looking for an MBA course.
    • The course requires 3-5 years of minimum experience, preferably at a managerial level with projects and team management.
    • Check GMAT or GRE requirements, as top MBA colleges will require the same.
  2. I would not suggest applying for an MBA without experience. Instead, look for other programs like Management, Finance, or Marketing MSc.
  3. Apply on time, as universities open applications on a round basis.
  4. Make sure all documents are proper, and the SOP should be provided as per the word limit required.
  5. Top universities also take MBA interviews, so make sure you are well-prepared.
