Big 2026 Update: Government Universities Are Out for New MBBS in Georgia Applicants
Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and Akaki Tsereteli State University no longer take new international applicants. Georgia’s Minister of Education, Givi Mikanadze, confirmed this in December 2025 as part of a reform that makes state universities free for Georgian citizens, redirecting foreign applicants entirely to private universities.
