Two Irish business schools name the GRE in their published entry requirements for 2027-28, and neither treats it as a fixed cutoff you clear before applying. That single fact changes how you should plan, so three terms need separating before you read any list of GRE accepted universities in Ireland.
Required means the program will not reach a decision without a test score. Accepted means the GRE works in place of the GMAT, if you choose to take it. Requested on review means the admissions team may ask for a score only after reading your file, often as a condition attached to an offer.

Read the table once more. There is no Irish program that will reject your application simply because you have not taken the GRE before you apply. Trinity says so on its own page. Smurfit requires a test but lets you pick from three.
Counselor insight: Indian students arrive with a US-shaped plan: book the test, hit a target score, then apply. In Ireland that sequence is backwards. Open every shortlisted programme page, search for "GRE" and "GMAT", and if neither word appears, your test planning is finished before it started.
Why Ireland Is a GMAT Country, Not a GRE Country
Irish postgraduate admission is built almost entirely on your bachelor's classification. The standard ask is a 2.1 honours degree at NFQ Level 8 or the international equivalent, which for Indian applicants usually means around 60 to 65 per cent depending on the program's competitiveness. After that come your transcript, your references, your CV and an English language score. A standardised aptitude test enters the picture only in business schools, and when it does, the GMAT is the test the pages are written around. The GRE is bolted on as an accepted alternative.
This is why the claim circulating online that a GRE score of 300 or above is enough for UCD programs, including the MIM, MSc Computer Science and MSc Economics does not survive contact with the source. No UCD page publishes a 300 threshold for any of those programs. The MSc in Management page carries no standard GMAT or GRE requirement at all. The number appears to have been invented and then copied.
The same applies to the broader claim that Ireland is a country requiring GRE scores for masters admission. It appears on several country-list pages and is simply wrong for the overwhelming majority of Irish programs.
Counselor insight: If a counsellor or a website gives you a GRE target for an Irish university without naming the specific program page it came from, treat it as unverified. Ask for the link. In Ireland there are only two schools where such a link exists, and only one publishes an actual GRE number.
GRE Cost, Documents and What Irish Universities Actually Ask For
ETS lists the GRE General Test at Rs.25,522 ($249) for all areas outside China, with the fee having increased effective 1 August 2026. Rescheduling costs Rs.5,650 ($55), each Additional Score Report beyond the free allocation costs Rs.4,150 ($40), and score reinstatement costs Rs.5,000 ($50). India-based test takers register through the ETS India site rather than the global one. Scores are valid for five years, which comfortably covers both Irish business schools.
You get four free score recipients on test day. Select them then, because adding them later costs Rs.4,150 each.

Counselor insight: The English band catches more Indian MBA applicants than any test score does. A 6.5 that clears an MSc in Data Analytics will not clear either MBA, both of which want 7.0 with high per-band minimums.
When Things Go Wrong at GRE Accepted Universities in Ireland
A conditional offer arrives requiring a test you have not taken. This is the expected path at Trinity, not a failure. Book the earliest available date and inform the admissions team. Trinity explicitly allows you to upload a test date rather than a score.
Your GRE lands below 150 in one section. Before you rebook, ask about a waiver. Both schools operate discretionary waivers, Trinity for applicants demonstrating strong quantitative and analytical ability, Smurfit in exceptional cases for outstanding professional experience combined with a very strong academic background. A conversation costs nothing; a retake costs Rs.25,522.
You hold a GRE but Smurfit publishes only GMAT figures. Use the equivalency resource the school links to, then email admissions with your converted figure and ask them to confirm it is competitive before you pay the Rs.2,19,640 deposit.
The class fills while you are still preparing. Both MBAs run rolling admissions with small cohorts and state that applications may close once the program is full. Preparing for four months before applying is how places get lost.
You paid for a GRE nothing asked for. The score stays valid for five years, so it keeps US, Canadian and some European options open. It is not recoverable money, but it is not wasted either.
Counselor insight: Admission and the visa are separate hurdles. Students who solve a test problem by dropping to a less selective program sometimes create a harder visa conversation, because the course no longer follows logically from their degree. Check both before you switch.
