Show all 111 answers

Cue 1:What the rule is?

  • Clearly state the rule you dislike, making sure to explain what it entails.
  • Provide context about where this rule is commonly applied.

Example

The rule I dislike is the strict dress code in my college, which requires students to wear formal attire every day. This rule applies to all students and is enforced during classes and college events.

Cue 2:Why you dislike it?

  • Explain your personal feelings about the rule and how it affects you.
  • Mention any specific incidents or experiences that highlight your dislike.

Example

I dislike this rule because it stifles our individuality and self-expression. For instance, I feel uncomfortable wearing formal clothes every day, especially when I prefer casual wear. Once, I had to attend a class in a hot summer, and wearing formal attire made me feel very uneasy and distracted.

Cue 3:What would you change and why?

  • Suggest a more flexible alternative to the current rule.
  • Explain the benefits of your proposed change for students and the college environment.

Example

I would change the rule to allow students to wear smart casual attire instead of formal clothes. This change would make students feel more comfortable and confident, which could enhance their learning experience. It would also promote a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere on campus.

Conclusion

    Example

In conclusion, while rules are important for maintaining order, I believe that some, like the strict dress code in my college, can be re-evaluated. Allowing more freedom in our attire would not only reflect our personalities but also create a more enjoyable learning environment.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So the rule that I dislike and that comes to my mind first thing when I think about this topic is the rule that we can give entrance exams only once in for most of the exams. So for example, if I take my example, if I take my example when I was in my 12th standard, after completing my 12th standard, we had to give a CUET exam, but the thing is that we could give security exam only once in a year and if let's say someone is not able to clear the exam in the first go, then the entire year just goes waste for the candidate or the person. So this is something that I believe can change. The education ministry must adhere to this demand of the students and the possible solution is that we increase the frequency of the tests that are conducted in a year. So if by any chance a candidate is not able to clear the exam in first go, he or she can appear for the same maybe once or twice more in the same year so that he can save on his time, precious time in fact, and can utilize the remaining time for something else and can plan his or her future judiciously. Therefore this was one of the instance and actually some of the exams are already doing this. If we talk about JEE mains, which is an engineering exam, this demand is already being followed on, but for the remaining exams, for example, CUET, I think there is still some scope to improve upon. So yeah, I think this was it.

A rule that I dislike and would like to change in the future is the gender norms that exist in my society. The difference between male and female is something which needs a lot of change. To give an example, when a girl gets married, she is brought to the man's family and she is told to no longer have any connection with her own family and she becomes a part of the husband's family. Her name gets changed, her family name gets changed. She is now told to adjust to a strange family which she has no idea about and she is given all these responsibilities to be a good wife and to be a good mother to her children. And sometimes when the wife does something wrong, a lot of blame is put on her and she gets a lot of pressure from the husband's family. I think that is something which needs a change. Both the husband and the wife should be able to be on their own after marriage and the husband's family should not take control over the wife or over the family on what they do. They should have complete freedom to live their life however they want. That is something which needs to change in my society.

I think the rule I dislike is prohibition of public display of affection. To me, affection is showing kindness, love and empathy towards people. People are affectionate towards their loved ones. They want to show that they care. They want to show that they are needed. They want to express their love through public display of affection. If kissing a person in public is wrong, then murdering a person in public is also wrong. If these are very broad, two degrees of comparison, yes. But how is kissing and murdering both wrong? It can't be a rule, right? One is showing kindness and one is a lack of empathy. Not lack of empathy, one is straight up torture.

Well, this topic immediately comes to my mind. The strict dress code from a school which means every student must wear a uniform daily basis. It is also accompanied by another strict rule indicating that boys must keep their hair short and girls must not wear any makeup or expensive jewelry. So, according to me, this was a rule which I disliked a lot. If students do not abide by these rules, they may receive warnings and punishment from principals. For example, they must stay after school for detention. At first, I found these strict rules quite reasonable because they could create a sense of discipline among students. However, by the time passage, I found them too restrictive and unnecessary. You know, just having a slightly different pair of shoes or slightly longer hair can lead to punishments from school for such small things. This can also limit the individual choices, moreover their freedom. So, I think that in future, schools must be more flexible with the dress code allowing the students to express more themselves provided that they maintain a neat and tidy style. Thank you.

Okay, so I think the most disliked rule is that right now I am in my college and we are not allowed to use our lift, it is only allowed to our faculty members but not to the students. So the problem, main problem is that our college is, my classes is on the 4th floor and I have to go everyday upstairs walking to the 4th floor and it becomes very difficult during the summer time, also security members are allowed to do that so they can easily climb it and for us, going to 4th floor takes a lot of time and if we get late, they obviously just scold us that why are you late, so yeah I think everyone should have this facility because it is a great facility, everyone should have it but they usually say that we could damage the property, damage the lift but now we are grown up, we are in college, so we know how to use a product. I would like to change it, I would like to, if I will get a chance, so definitely I will change this rule, I will make more lift in my college and I will allow the students to use it because it is a facility made for human being and every person has right because 4th floor is not easy to climb and you know 4th floor is not easy to go upstairs, so yeah that's it.

I would consider social discrimination which comes with lot of problems in the society. One of the major rule which we all look up to is the racial discrimination. This is something which exists in our society even now. It's not when or where but it's always in existence. It gives me immense sorrow to accept that social discrimination is based on the colour, race and racial aspect of humans. This is not just in India but also in Africa, USA mainly. It gives a proper picture of how the world runs. The major aspect of how to overcome this is again dependent on the humans. It often tells us that it is nothing which should be applicable to anyone but it is something which we must look into it as a social threat. It often gives the threat to today's generation kids which makes them reconsider their birth. As a social being, humans are supposed to mingle with one another, frequently they have to be in a social gathering without any discrimination. But how far it is happening is one of the biggest question mark in today's society.

Okay, so I am a fidget helpist and I would like to share my opinion regarding on my field. In my field there is a strict rule, all the fidgets are followed by council. It's a registration process, I think it's not mandatory all the state because when you plan to remove another city, you have to register the city council. I think it's really hectic to every fidget and to work consuming, I think there is only central council allowed and every fidget just register once a time and not renovation security. Like in current situation when we register on Delhi council, so they approve it and renovation around 5 years. It's really time consuming and time wasting, I think government should need to improve their rules, regulations to easy and convenient for the physiotherapist. It's a major problem, government should need to highlight on it.

So, the rule is basically, smoking should be not allowed in the public place because nowadays, people do smoking at the public place without thinking about children roaming around and also about the climate. So, it should not be allowed at the public place. Why it should not be allowed? Because smoking is not good for the health and also, smoking is a very dangerous thing for the health. So, despite that, it is allowed to do smoking in public place and due to that, children learn from their elders, so it can never be stopped. So, whenever I will be in power, what I will do? I will make a rule that whoever is addicted to smoking, they can do smoking, but it should not be easily available at any shop and also, you have to show your I-card to get the cigarette and after that, you can only smoke when you are not in public place and whenever there is a kid around, you cannot smoke. So, that is the thing I want to do.

So, few years ago, I heard about this rule in the Indian law, which I found most inappropriate rule ever, which I think I should mention, which I think it is important to mention for this question. So, the rule is that a person X, suppose someone registers a case, a complaint to the police against that person X, the court treats the person X as guilty until he is proven innocent. So, this is the most inappropriate rule I have ever heard about, because suppose the person X has not committed the crime and still he is, he or she is being held behind the bars, is treated guilty unless he is proven innocent. But, in India, the law structure is like, the richer people, they are able to afford a good, a good attorney for themselves, but the poorer people, those who can only afford the government, the government provided attorney, which are definitely not so good in terms of fighting a case in the court. They have to suffer, until they are proven guilty or innocent, they have to suffer in the jail and also...
