Show all 111 answers

Cue 1:What the rule is?

  • Clearly state the rule you dislike, making sure to explain what it entails.
  • Provide context about where this rule is commonly applied.

Example

The rule I dislike is the strict dress code in my college, which requires students to wear formal attire every day. This rule applies to all students and is enforced during classes and college events.

Cue 2:Why you dislike it?

  • Explain your personal feelings about the rule and how it affects you.
  • Mention any specific incidents or experiences that highlight your dislike.

Example

I dislike this rule because it stifles our individuality and self-expression. For instance, I feel uncomfortable wearing formal clothes every day, especially when I prefer casual wear. Once, I had to attend a class in a hot summer, and wearing formal attire made me feel very uneasy and distracted.

Cue 3:What would you change and why?

  • Suggest a more flexible alternative to the current rule.
  • Explain the benefits of your proposed change for students and the college environment.

Example

I would change the rule to allow students to wear smart casual attire instead of formal clothes. This change would make students feel more comfortable and confident, which could enhance their learning experience. It would also promote a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere on campus.

Conclusion

    Example

In conclusion, while rules are important for maintaining order, I believe that some, like the strict dress code in my college, can be re-evaluated. Allowing more freedom in our attire would not only reflect our personalities but also create a more enjoyable learning environment.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

To get into any university in India, I mean the top universities like Delhi University, Banaras, Hindu University, we have to give this entrance exam called CUET and I just don't like the concept of this exam. The reason why I don't like the concept of this exam is because suppose I want to do English honours, instead of taking and instead of seeing my listening, my speaking and my writing skills, we have to give an exam where I am asked about other subjects, about accountancy, economics, GAT and BST, fine arts. I just don't like this concept because I think if I want a particular subject, then the entrance exam should be about the particular subject only. I don't need to give other subjects. If you are taking an entrance exam for English honours, then you should give us an entrance exam where you check our speaking skills, our writing skills, our English skills, that how much are we actually interested in English, not just subject, not just like.

The rule I dislike or if I get an opportunity I would like to change is the visa process for Indians or other South Asian countries. Mostly the Schengen visa. As we all know that getting a Schengen visa for all South Asian countries is quite difficult because of the passport level we all have. Even if we qualify in terms of forms, educational qualification, we have to pass through a lot of steps and still the decline visa rate is so high for all these South Asian countries. I feel like the world is quite everyone's and these countries defining borders, creating the issues for those people who want to visit or to travel the countries but they have limitation because of the country they belong to. So I would like to change the rule of getting these visas because I feel everyone should have a freedom to travel anywhere they want if they are able to. They should not face any limitation because of the country they belong to. Also there are so many steps for these South Asian countries. There are bunch of documents that we require and even if we have those documents these embassy persons can reject your visa if they don't find your presence suitable for their country. So I guess this is most disliked rule I feel.

A rule belonging to the Indian Judiciary System, which states that people below the age of 18 years are considered as juvenile and regardless of whatever crime they commit, they are not sentenced according to the grievance of the crime. They are considered juvenile and sent to a juvenile home for redemption. I completely believe that this rule should be changed. If people who are below the age of 18 are considered as child and given a chance to redeem, they will still come out and do the same thing as heinous as what they did earlier. If they are not scared of committing acts of sexual assault and homicide, then why can't they serve their sentence to jail? I believe if I grow up, I am going to help in a way to change this particular rule. My uncle is a lawyer and he works with the High Court Judge. I will make sure that these kind of rules are getting changed in the future.

I would like to explain the rule which I dislike the most is to keeping the girls inside or inside the house. People are not giving, people are sending them for education and for other things also but still they are behind the bars, I feel like they cannot come outside, they do not have a complete freedom, they cannot do what they want. Giving freedom doesn't mean whatever they want they can do, everybody has a limitation in their life. So here the rule that people do not send their girls outside. Second thing, there are orthodox type of customs still existed in the village side or country side areas in India. Here if I talk about the custom of, a custom of covering the face still existed in the country side area, the married women still has to do so and it is really very awkward to keep them inside their houses. They cannot come, still we talk a lot of time, we talk about women empowerment and so on so but it is not at the real ground. So the thing is this, we have to change a lot and the other part that I like the most is

Well, there are rules and regulations are the part and parcel of everyone's life. Some people follow the rules because they like to be in the good eyes of anyone but some people follow them to because it is their responsibilities, here I would like to talk about the rule which I do not like. Actually the rule is regarding the class reservation. In this rule the lower class people get all the benefits but the higher class do not get any chance, this rule is applicable only when a person goes to get a job, somehow they do not get a job because they are not foreign to that class which is reserved for its seats. I personally do not like this rule because it creates a differentiate between two classes of people and it creates a big gap that creates many kind of conflicts which is a great loss to the country. I want to change this in order to create a unity.

    Band 6-7

Well, rules and regulations play a very crucial role in your life, and it is the responsibility of every person to obey the law of the land. Whenever they follow the rules, they become well disciplined in their life. So today, it's about one of the rules that I dislike and would like to change in the future. It is none other than the school uniform, which applies to both school boys and school girls. In school, they are required to wear their proper uniform and if they find any kind of mistake, they are punished by the school authorities. Sometimes, the school authorities impose a fine on them. Moreover, if they make a regular mistake in their daily routine, they may be restricted from school. Additionally, the parent-teacher association may impose punishments, such as making the student walk around the ground to reflect on their mistakes. First of all, I think that the rule is good for students because it provides a sense of identity and makes them feel good. But, I believe this rule should be changed because it is not good for individuals. Many students cannot afford the high price of uniforms. Nowadays, a student should not have to walk around the ground as a punishment. If they could choose their clothes according to their own preferences, they would feel more independent. I believe that by changing this rule, students would much feel happier and more excited about their lives. So, this is a rule that I dislike and I would like to change in the future. Thank you.

Honestly speaking rules are good for us because it keep us in a check but there are some rules that I don't find completely unnecessary. Today I would talk about a specific rule that I really don't like. I am a working professional and we had a dress code in our office so we had have to wear a same dress on the weekdays and we don't have choice to wear clothes according to our choice. Sometimes it irritates us because we have variety of clothes and we are not able to wear clothes according to our choice. So sometimes it also keep me a little low in terms of my morale and oftenly I feel quite low because I love styling myself but due to norms and conditions of the office I have to follow their rule. So in future if I ever get a chance I would love to talk to my owner and I will suggest him that we can allow me or us to wear at least three times a week whatever we want to. We will love to wear a dress but additionally we need at least three days a week so we can wear clothes according to our choice so that at the same our productivity will always increase and I'm not the only one who is not happy with this rule. All my colleagues also said about all these things that it should be some choice of wearing clothing and we can style according to our thing. So this is the rule I would like to change.

More than changing a rule, I would like to add to a rule, which is that any crime which is against a woman should also apply to men as well, for example, rape is something which is only committed against women as per the law and as per Indian Penal Code, but I believe that crime against men are also very prominent these days, so I would like to add that aspect to as well, it is because there are many crimes which are happening these days against men and they go unnoticed by general people and if it goes unnoticed by a law as well, then I think the suicide rates in men and depressive men would increase over time and secondly, I also believe that men should be given equal opportunity and equal rights as women because they are also a part of this society and they also deserve equal recognition as well.

All rules and regulations are for our benefits, as our authorities choose the rules for our benefits and for our easier requirements. But if I would have to pick one that I dislike and I want to change in the future, the rules should be uniform in schools. Uniform in schools defines the unsupportable rules that our authority chooses. When I was in 6th, we used to wear proper uniform with ribbons and proper uniform with proper shoes, haircut, etc. This rule I dislike usually. Overall, I am...

I always wondered why the Supreme Court of India has ruled in favor to ban the sunscreens of the window glasses of vehicles. It was before many years when reviewing a case with allegations of terrorist activities and other immoral activities being conducted in vehicles which are hidden by sunscreens on the window glasses was taken into account. At that point the apex court has decided to ban such films which were opaque and close the view for the outside public into the vehicle. But I do believe that this rule doesn't possess any logic. A private vehicle is a private vehicle for a reason and the privacy of the person who has bought the vehicle and inside it should be ensured. Sunscreen also, as its name suggests, protects the people inside from the scorching heat of the sun. While many of the official vehicles still continue to use the sunscreen, the government executive agencies like police and motor vehicle department are making it a must to the common public by levying fines for them for using these kinds of services. However, recently one of the Kerala High Court has decided to give some concessions for using low opacities.
