Read this as a ladder, not a guarantee. The jump from the 25-29 band to the 30-39 band is not increments accumulating. It is the promotion from staff nurse to senior staff nurse, and then into nurse clinician or nurse educator tracks. Nurses who never specialise tend to stay in the lower half of their band.

Foreign nurses are included. The Minister for Health confirmed in February 2024 that ANGEL applies to foreign-recruited nurses after four years of service in public healthcare. Public sector nurses also received the July 2025 adjustment, which private employers had no obligation to match.

When Things Go Wrong With Your Singapore Nursing Plan

You fail the SNB Licensure Examination. Your employer manages the re-sit. Failures cluster around Singapore-specific clinical protocols and drug administration frameworks rather than general nursing knowledge, so prepare against SNB's core competencies, not an Indian exam syllabus.

SNB assesses you as an Enrolled Nurse. Your pay drops to the EN band, around S$3,439 gross at the median. You can work toward RN status, but it takes years. If the offer letter still says Staff Nurse, raise it with HR in writing immediately.

You are not confirmed at the end of probation. MOH has stated foreign RNs are assessed on the job over six to twelve months. Redeployment to community or step-down care is possible, but the institution decides.

Your offer falls below the January 2027 threshold. For applications submitted on or after 1 January 2027 with a salary under S$3,600, MOM will not approve the S Pass. Check that number before you sign.

Documents are delayed. Usually a college that will not send transcripts directly, or a name mismatch across certificates. Both are fixable, and both cost four to eight weeks you did not plan for.

An agent promises guaranteed SNB registration. Only an employer can submit your application. Anyone selling registration without naming the hospital that has offered you a job cannot deliver it.
