When the cue card section begins, the examiner will give you a card with a topic and some prompts. You’ll have one minute to prepare your thoughts before speaking for 1-2 minutes on the topic.

Ans. While attempting the cue card section, focus on using clear and structured language. Ensure your answer includes a clear introduction, detailed description, and conclusion. Use varied vocabulary and complex sentences to demonstrate your language proficiency. Maintain coherence and fluency by linking ideas effectively, and try to use appropriate grammar and pronunciation to convey your points clearly and convincingly.
Ans. If you don’t understand the cue card topic, ask the examiner to clarify or repeat it. Take a moment to think about the keywords and context of the topic. Use any related ideas you can think of to form your response. It’s better to provide a relevant answer based on what you do understand than to struggle in silence. Stay calm and use the opportunity to show your ability to adapt.
Ans. While it’s important to be natural and conversational, avoid using overly informal language during your cue card task.
