Quick Read
- NUS, NTU and SMU run no November intake at all.
- Most institutions labelled “November” actually start in late October.
- Curtin Singapore’s late-year trimester begins 25 October 2027.
- ICA needs your Student’s Pass application two to three months early.
- Indian students should apply between March and July 2027.
Does Singapore Actually Have a November Intake?
The November intake in Singapore is a label, not a national admission cycle. Singapore’s degree calendar has two real intakes: August, which is the main one, and January, which is smaller. Everything else is program-level scheduling by individual institutions, and in practice it clusters in October rather than November.
That distinction decides who can admit you. The intakes in Singapore run by public universities are fixed. NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SIT and SUSS have no November entry point for any program in 2027-28. When a search result advertises a November start, it belongs to a Private Education Institution (PEI) registered with SkillsFuture Singapore under the Committee for Private Education, or to an Australian branch campus.

These institutions are legitimate. EduTrust certification is a genuine quality benchmark, and Curtin Singapore awards the same degree as its Perth campus. But the degree is conferred by the overseas partner or parent university rather than by a Singapore public university, and that is the trade-off attached to this window. If you are still choosing a destination, start with our broader guide to study in Singapore for Indian students.
Counselor insight: When a student tells us they have found a "November intake", the first thing we ask is for a screenshot of the start date from the institution's own academic calendar page. In most cases the official date falls in October, and the student has been building a visa timeline around a month that does not exist.
Which Institutions Offer the November Intake in Singapore in 2027-28?
Here is what the official calendars and program pages show. Note how few of these are actually November.
| Institution | Level | Degree awarded by | Verified late-year start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Curtin Singapore | UG and PG | Curtin University, Australia | Trimester 3A 2027 runs 25 October 2027 to 4 February 2028; Trimester 3C begins 11 October 2027 |
| PSB Academy | Postgraduate, some diplomas | Coventry University and other partners | November and December intake months confirmed; scholarship cut-off 30 September |
| Kaplan Singapore | Diploma, some degrees | Murdoch, Northumbria and others | Six intakes yearly: Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec; some programmes run Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov |
| SIM GE | Diploma, UG, PG | University of London, RMIT, Wollongong, Buffalo | October, not November. Its late-year diploma cycle begins 1 October |
| MDIS | UG, PG | Sunderland, Northumbria and others | October, not November. MBA commences February, June and October |
| JCU Singapore | UG, PG | James Cook University, Australia | No November trimester. Trimesters run January, May and September |
Two corrections to what you will read elsewhere. First, many sites list JCU Singapore as a November provider. Its own calendar puts trimesters in January, May and September, with only short carousels and English pathway programs in March, July and November, and those are not degree intakes. Second, SIM and MDIS appear in almost every November intake list, but their published commencement month in this window is October.
Counselor insight: Program availability inside a single institution varies more than students expect. PSB Academy's Coventry-awarded MBA runs March, July and November, while its Newcastle-awarded MBA runs January, May and September. Same campus, same building, different calendar. Check at the program level, never at institution level.
How Early Should You Apply for the November Intake in Singapore 2027?
Plan backwards from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, not from the institution's rolling deadline. This is the single most useful thing to understand about this intake, and almost no other guide mentions it.
For approved private education institutions, ICA requires the Student's Pass application to be submitted at least two months and not more than three months before your course begins. The same two-to-three-month rule applies to offshore institutes with local campuses such as Curtin Singapore. Processing then takes up to one month, or within two weeks for an EduTrust-accredited PEI.
Apply that to Curtin Singapore's verified 25 October 2027 start:
- Submission window with ICA: roughly 25 July to 25 August 2027. Earlier than three months is rejected outright, and later than two months breaches the rule.
- Offer, acceptance and deposit: complete by early July 2027, because the institution must register you in SOLAR+ before you can submit anything.
- Application to the institution: March to June 2027. PSB Academy states an application waiting period of 10 working days for full-time courses before commencement is confirmed, so leave slack.
If you are reading this well ahead of that window, you have room to strengthen the application rather than rush it. Retake IELTS if your band is borderline, clear pending backlog subjects, and build six months of clean bank statements. If your profile is competitive for a public university instead, look at NUS scholarships and target August 2027 or August 2028, since those windows close between December and March of the preceding year.
Counselor insight: Families lose the most money at this exact point. Every year we see a non-refundable application fee paid for a start date the visa timeline cannot support. Before you pay anything, email admissions one sentence: "Given ICA's two-month submission rule, can you confirm my Student's Pass can be registered in time for this start date?" Keep the reply.
November Intake vs August vs January: Which Should You Pick?
| Factor | Late Oct / Nov 2027 | August 2027 | January 2028 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Available at NUS, NTU, SMU | No | Yes, primary intake | Select programs only |
| Institutions | PEIs and Curtin Singapore | All | Most |
| Course range | Narrowest | Widest | Moderate |
| Scholarship access | Limited, mostly institutional | Highest | Some |
| Competition | Lowest | Highest | Moderate |
| ICA submission window | Late Jul to late Aug 2027 | May to Jun 2027 | Oct to Nov 2027 |
| Best suited to | Career changers, students avoiding a full year's gap | First-time UG and PG applicants | Applicants who missed August, working professionals |
If your goal is a top-ranked Singapore degree, this window cannot deliver it and waiting for August is the better call. If your goal is to begin an internationally awarded degree without losing twelve months, it works well. Compare against the February intake in Singapore before committing, since Curtin's Trimester 1A is the other credible option.
Counselor insight: The gap between a late-October start and a February start is not wasted time if you use it. Students who spent it retaking IELTS or clearing a backlog subject frequently ended up with a stronger February admit than the October offer they were originally chasing.
Eligibility and Documents for the November Intake in Singapore
| Document | Requirement | India-specific note |
|---|---|---|
| Class 10 and 12 marksheets | All Indian boards accepted | Self-attested scans usually fine for initial review; keep originals ready |
| Degree certificate and transcripts | For PG applicants | Provisional certificate accepted at application stage; see our guide to academic transcripts |
| English proficiency | IELTS typically 6.0 to 6.5 depending on the program | Some PEIs run internal English tests or a preparatory course instead |
| Passport | Valid well beyond course end date | Renew before applying if under 18 months validity; the name must match your marksheets exactly |
| Financial proof | Bank statements or sponsor documents | Parent's ITR and salary slips commonly used; joint accounts generally accepted |
| SOP and LORs | Program-dependent, often lighter than public universities | Do not reuse one SOP across four institutions |
| Passport photograph | Taken within the last three months, per ICA specification | Studio-edited photos get rejected; use a plain white background |
| Application fee | For example, MDIS charges SGD 490 (Rs.36,549) | Non-refundable, so confirm your start date is achievable first |
The widely quoted "minimum SGD 30,000 bank balance" for Indian applicants traces only to aggregator sites. Confirm the current financial requirement with the specific institution and against ICA guidance before this figure goes live.
Counselor insight: The document that delays Indian applicants most often is not academic. It is the passport. Under a year of validity, or a name that reads differently on the marksheet and the passport, stalls the SOLAR+ registration entirely, and the institution cannot proceed until it is corrected.
Cost of the November Intake in Singapore for Indian Students
Tuition, verified examples from current published fee schedules
| Program | Fee (SGD, incl. GST) | Fee (INR) |
|---|---|---|
| SIM diploma, international students | 14,845.80 total | Rs.11.07 lakh |
| SIM University of Wollongong degrees | 23,397.50 to 40,809.67 | Rs.17.45 lakh to Rs.30.44 lakh |
Exchange rate used: Rs.74.59 per SGD. Verify the current rate before finalising your budget.
Private institution students do not receive the MOE Tuition Grant, which is what subsidises fees at NUS and NTU. The sticker price is what you pay. Fee schedules are revised annually, so treat these as the current published band and confirm the 2027-28 figures with the institution.
Living costs. NTU's own estimate for international graduate students is SGD 1,300 to 1,600 per month (Rs.96,967 to Rs.1,19,344). That covers on-campus housing at SGD 400 to 600 (Rs.29,836 to Rs.44,754), meals at SGD 450 to 630 (Rs.33,566 to Rs.46,992), transport, personal expenses and telecom. Budget above this range if you are at a PEI, because most PEIs have limited or no campus accommodation and you will be renting on the private market.
Visa costs. On approval you pay a SGD 60 issuance fee (Rs.4,475) plus SGD 30 (Rs.2,238) for the multiple-entry visa, on top of the non-refundable application fee. Our Singapore student visa fees breakdown has the full list, and the cost of studying in Singapore guide covers the full annual budget. Institutional awards are worth checking, and scholarships in Singapore lists what Indian students are eligible for.
Counselor insight: PEI fees are usually quoted per program, while public university fees are quoted per year. Students compare the two numbers directly and conclude the private option is cheaper than it is. Convert both to a total cost across the full duration before deciding.
Month-by-Month Plan for the November Intake in Singapore 2027
| Month | What to do | India-specific note |
|---|---|---|
| Dec 2026 to Feb 2027 | Shortlist programs and open each institution's academic calendar to confirm the actual start date | Do not rely on third-party intake lists |
| Mar to Apr 2027 | Book and take IELTS; collect marksheets and transcripts | Test slots in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi fill early; book six weeks ahead |
| Apr to Jun 2027 | Submit applications; Class 12 and final-year results are declared in this window | Provisional certificates are accepted at application stage |
| Jun to early Jul 2027 | Receive offers, accept, pay the deposit | Convert INR to SGD by bank wire or forex card, not cash |
| Early Jul 2027 | Institution registers you in SOLAR+ | Chase this. Nothing moves until it is done |
| Late Jul to late Aug 2027 | Submit eForm 16 and pay the application fee | This is ICA's hard window for a 25 October start |
| Aug to Sep 2027 | ICA processes: within one month, or two weeks for EduTrust PEIs | No rush option exists; some cases take longer |
| Sep 2027 | IPA letter issued | The IPA is your entry visa. Do not book flights before it arrives |
| Sep to Oct 2027 | Complete the medical examination, book your ICA appointment, arrange housing and flights | Medical reports must be recent; check the validity window |
| Late Oct 2027 | Arrive, complete ICA formalities, collect the digital Student's Pass, start classes | Register for SingPass on arrival |
Our full Singapore Student's Pass process walkthrough covers each form in detail.
Counselor insight: The seven-day payment clock after submitting eForm 16 catches Indian applicants repeatedly. If the card payment fails and you do not fix it inside seven days, the application is withdrawn and you restart from scratch. Check your card's international transaction limit before you submit, not after.
Should You Take the November Intake in Singapore? Three Scenarios
You are a final-year BTech student graduating in May 2027. This window fits well. Applying in April 2027 with a provisional certificate puts you inside the ICA window comfortably, and Curtin Singapore's 25 October 2027 trimester means roughly five months between graduation and your first class. If you are targeting NUS or NTU for a Master's instead, wait for August 2028. A PEI diploma will not strengthen that application.
You are a Class 12 CBSE student appearing in 2027. You can make this work, unlike students chasing a nearer intake. Results are typically declared in May or June 2027, which still leaves time to apply, accept and clear the ICA window by late August. Book IELTS for March 2027 so the score is in hand before results arrive. If you would rather not compress it, target January 2028 or August 2028.
You are working in Bengaluru with three years of experience and want a Master's without a two-year career break. This window suits you best of the three. PSB Academy's Coventry-awarded MBA has confirmed November starts, runs 12 to 16 months, and lower competition works in your favour. Confirm the exact 2027 commencement date and the awarding university before paying anything.
Counselor insight: Ask one question of any PEI before enrolling: which university's name appears on the final degree certificate and transcript. If the answer is the Singapore institution rather than the overseas partner, understand exactly what you are buying, because Indian employers and foreign universities assess the awarding body.
What to Do When Things Go Wrong
Your results are not declared yet. Request a provisional certificate or a bonafide certificate from your college. Most PEIs will issue a conditional offer against it. Tell admissions early, because ICA still needs the institution's SOLAR+ registration to proceed.
Your IPA has not arrived and the course starts soon. Contact the institution's international student office, not ICA directly. They can follow up on the SOLAR+ application. Ask in writing about deferring to the next intake before your fee payment deadline passes.
Your Student's Pass was refused. Ask the institution what specifically was flagged, usually financial proof or a document mismatch. Fix the underlying issue and reapply for a later intake rather than resubmitting the same file.
The intake was cancelled for low enrolment. PSB Academy states that students are informed before commencement if a course cannot start. Ask immediately whether the fee is refundable or transferable to the next intake, and get the answer by email.
You missed the ICA window. Move to January or February 2028 rather than forcing an October start. A three-month wait costs less than a forfeited fee plus a refusal on your record.
Counselor insight: Keep every communication in email, never on WhatsApp or a phone call. When a deferral or refund is disputed months later, the students who get resolved outcomes are the ones who can forward a dated message from the admissions team.
3 Takeaways on November Intake in Singapore
The November intake in Singapore is smaller and later-shifted than search results suggest, and planning it accurately for 2027-28 protects both your money and your year.
- Verify the start date on the institution's own calendar page before you pay anything. Most listings labelled November are October, and one commonly named institution has no November degree intake at all.
- Build your timeline from ICA's two-to-three-month submission window. For a 25 October 2027 start that means submitting between late July and late August 2027, which sets your institutional application deadline at June.
- Use the runway you have. Applying in 2027 rather than scrambling means a stronger IELTS band, cleaner bank statements and a real choice between the late-October, January 2028 and August 2028 intakes.

Frequently Asked Questions About November Intake in Singapore
-
What happens if my Student's Pass is delayed past the course start date?
You cannot enter Singapore to study without a valid IPA letter, and airlines will not board visa-required nationals without one. Contact your institution's international office to follow up on SOLAR+ and ask in writing about deferral to the next intake. Do not travel on a tourist visa intending to convert it, because that is not permitted.
-
Will Indian employers recognise a degree from this intake?
Recognition follows the awarding university, not the intake month. A Curtin University degree earned in Singapore is the same award as one earned in Perth. A partner-awarded degree from a PEI is assessed on that partner university's standing. The month you started is irrelevant to employers; the awarding body is not.
-
Are scholarships available for a November start?
Institutional awards exist but are smaller and tied to specific intakes. PSB Academy's Merit Scholarship for undergraduate courses carries a 30 September cut-off for November and December intakes. Most large Singapore government and public university scholarships are attached to the August cycle, so funding access in this window is genuinely limited.
-
Can I apply for the November intake in Singapore after my Class 12 results?
Yes, and the 2027 cycle gives you room to do it properly. Indian board results are usually declared in May or June, which still leaves time to apply, receive an offer, accept it and clear ICA's late-July to late-August submission window. Book IELTS for March or April 2027 so the score is ready before results arrive.
-
How much does the November intake in Singapore cost?
Tuition at private institutions varies widely. SIM's international diploma fee is SGD 14,845.80 (Rs.11.07 lakh) in total, and its Wollongong degrees run SGD 23,397.50 to 40,809.67 (Rs.17.45 lakh to Rs.30.44 lakh). Add living costs of roughly SGD 1,300 to 1,600 (Rs.96,967 to Rs.1,19,344) per month. The MOE Tuition Grant does not apply at private institutions.
-
Does James Cook University Singapore have a November intake?
No. JCU Singapore's trimesters run in January, May and September. Only its short carousels and English pathway programs run in March, July and November, and those are not degree intakes. Several study-abroad sites list JCU as a November provider, and that claim contradicts the university's own published calendar.
-
When should I apply for the November intake in Singapore 2027?
Apply to institutions between March and June 2027, and aim to have an offer accepted by early July. ICA requires the Student's Pass application at least two months and not more than three months before commencement, which for a 25 October start means submitting between late July and late August 2027. Working backwards from ICA is more reliable than following a rolling institutional deadline.
-
Is there a November intake at NUS or NTU?
No Singapore public university offers a November intake. NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SIT and SUSS run an August main intake and a smaller January intake, with January limited to selected programs. Any November start you see advertised belongs to a private education institution or to an Australian branch campus such as Curtin Singapore.
-
Which institutions genuinely start in November 2027?
Curtin Singapore's Trimester 3A begins 25 October 2027 and runs to 4 February 2028, with Trimester 3C starting 11 October. PSB Academy has confirmed November and December intake months. Kaplan Singapore runs some programs on a January, March, May, July, September, November cycle. SIM and MDIS start in October despite being widely listed as November providers.
