The University of Cyprus is the cheapest headline option. However, its Greek-language requirement closes most undergraduate departments to Indian students. UCLan Cyprus asks for the largest non-EU deposit even though its tuition is mid-range.

University of Cyprus Fees: Tuition, Deposits and Refund Rules

University of Cyprus fees depend on nationality and level. Non-EU undergraduates pay €6,834 (Rs.7,45,931) a year. The rate for Cypriot and EU undergraduates is €3,417 (Rs.3,72,966), and the Republic of Cyprus pays it on their behalf. Undergraduate fees must be paid before registration, and you show the payment receipt when you register.

A standard conventional Master's costs €5,125 (Rs.5,59,394) in total, whatever your nationality. Self-funded Master's programs cost more:

PhD fees: €4,000 (Rs.4,36,600) in total if you hold a Master's, or €6,500 (Rs.7,09,475) without one. Fees are capped at €9,000 (Rs.9,82,350) for study beyond six years.

Conventional Master's payment schedule (€5,125 / Rs.5,59,394 total):

1. A €500 (Rs.54,575) non-refundable deposit when you accept the offer.
2. €700 (Rs.76,405) before registration and €700 (Rs.76,405) before exams, each semester.
3. In the third semester, the pre-exam payment rises to €1,125 (Rs.1,22,794).

MBA payment structure: a €550 (Rs.60,032) non-refundable deposit, then three instalments of roughly €3,233 (Rs.3,52,882) each across the first year.

Refund policy: If you withdraw within the first four weeks of a semester, the fees paid for that semester may be refunded, minus the deposit. If you withdraw after week four, nothing is returned.

Counselor insight: The refund cutoff is a real financial risk, not fine print. If you have doubts about a program, raise them before week four, not after.

University of Cyprus Scholarships for International Students

These are the scholarships worth checking before you assume you'll pay full fees:

• Cyprus University Funds: merit or financial-need awards specifically for non-EU and expatriate students.
• A.G. Leventis Foundation awards: external foundation funding UCY students can apply for.
• Sibling, relative or couple discount: 20% off tuition instalments if two qualifying students are enrolled at UCY at the same time.
• EU Disability Card partial scholarship: a partial tuition reduction for holders of the card.
• Assistantships: €342 (Rs.37,329) or €683 (Rs.74,549) a month for up to 10 months, in exchange for teaching or lab support work.
• "George and Androulla Vasiliou" awards: €5,000 (Rs.5,45,750) each, for Medicine, Engineering, Sciences or Economics students specifically.

American University of Cyprus Fees for International Students: Full Fee Structure

American University of Cyprus fees are a flat rate per faculty, not per program. That makes the AUCY fee structure simpler to budget than most in Cyprus.

American University of Cyprus tuition fees for bachelor programs:

Graduate programs:

AUCY charges international students the same tuition as local and EU students.

One-off charges:

• Application: €55 (Rs.6,003)
• Insurance: €135 (Rs.14,735)
• Late registration: €100 (Rs.10,915)
• Registering for fewer than 3 courses: €400 (Rs.43,660)
• Late thesis submission: €1,000 (Rs.1,09,150)
• Transcript: €20 (Rs.2,183)

Scholarships at AUCY include merit awards, need-based financial aid, a sibling fee reduction, athletic scholarships, and work-study arrangements.

Counselor insight: AUCY's flat per-faculty rate is easy to budget, but it means two very different courses can cost the same. Confirm which faculty your program sits under.

European University Cyprus Tuition Fees for International Students

European University Cyprus sets tuition per program, so the exact figure depends on your department. These costs are confirmed on EUC's own pages:

• Application fee: €80 (Rs.8,732), non-refundable
• Down payment on acceptance: €1,100 (Rs.1,20,065) on campus, €500 (Rs.54,575) for distance learning
• Non-EU tuition deposit: €3,000 (Rs.3,27,450), linked to the visa process
• MSc Computer Science (benchmark): €9,600 (Rs.10,47,840) a year, the same rate for EU and international students

EUC adds no nationality surcharge to headline tuition. The €3,000 (Rs.3,27,450) deposit is the main extra cost for non-EU students.

Counselor insight: Since EUC prices by program, get your department's fee schedule in writing before you budget from any published figure, including this one.

Open University of Cyprus Tuition Fees for International Students

The Open University of Cyprus is a distance-learning university, so its fees work differently:

• Undergraduate: no tuition, but every student pays a per-module administrative fee. The University Council sets it, it differs for non-EU citizens, and OUC doesn't publish a fixed euro figure.
• Master's: tuition is set per program by the Council and isn't published as a single figure.
• PhD: €675 (Rs.73,676) per semester for the first six semesters, then €100 (Rs.10,915) per semester, up to a maximum of eight years.
• Early-payment discount: 7% for students who pay their modules in full within the advance payment period for 2026-2027. The 2027-28 discount had not been announced as of September 2026.

Since the per-module and per-program rates aren't public, OUC fees are hard to plan around. Ask OUC for its current non-EU schedule before you apply.

Counselor insight: OUC suits working professionals better than fresh Class 12 graduates. Don't let "no tuition" in the marketing copy become your budgeting assumption.

University of Nicosia Fees for International Students

University of Nicosia publishes its 2026-2027 fees for international students by school and program. UNIC charges per ECTS credit, and the yearly figures below assume the standard 60 ECTS.

Bachelor's (per year, non-EU):

• Visa application: €150 (Rs.16,372)
• Health and accident insurance: €175 (Rs.19,101) a year
• Refundable international student guarantee: €400 (Rs.43,660)

Non-EU students must enrol full-time (60 ECTS a year) and pay the first semester upfront. Later semesters can follow an instalment plan against a €1,500 (Rs.1,63,725) registration deposit.

UCLan University Cyprus Tuition Fees for International Students

UCLan Cyprus charges one flat rate after an automatic bursary, and it's the same for local, EU, and non-EU students:

• Undergraduate: €9,000 (Rs.9,82,350) a year, after a €950 (Rs.1,03,692) bursary off €9,950 (Rs.10,86,042)
• Postgraduate (most programs): €9,500 (Rs.10,36,925) for the full 90-ECTS program, after a €1,000 (Rs.1,09,150) bursary off €10,500 (Rs.11,46,075)
• Distance-learning MBA, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics: €8,500 (Rs.9,27,775) for the full program

International applicant fees:

Once you're in Cyprus, three more costs add roughly €265 (Rs.28,925): the Pink Slip application at €55 (Rs.6,003), medical insurance at €150 (Rs.16,372) and medical tests at €60 (Rs.6,549).

UCLan scholarships can lower these fees further:

• Up to 50% off undergraduate tuition for top performers
• Up to 30% off postgraduate tuition after an interview
• A 10% sibling bursary
• A 40% alumni scholarship

• Withdrawing after week four expecting a refund: At UCY, fees paid for a semester aren't refunded after week four. Refund policies aren't standardised across Cyprus institutions.
• Budgeting for tuition but not the deposit: UCLan's €5,000 (Rs.5,45,750) and EUC's €3,000 (Rs.3,27,450) non-EU deposits are separate payments, due before registration.
• Budgeting from UNIC's online fee column: Online Master's fees run up to €3,690 (Rs.4,02,764) below on-campus rates, and only on-campus study supports a student visa.
