EduRank, one of the sites publishing the figure, explains its own method openly. It states that Radboud is among the institutions that do not provide data on acceptance rates, and that its estimate is based on the admission statistics of closely ranked nearby universities with similar research profiles that do publish such data. In other words, the number describes other universities, not Radboud.

From there it spread. One site presents 53% as a flat fact. Another writes that just over half of applicants are accepted. A third hedges with "as per credible sources, estimated to be around 53%." One goes further and invents supporting detail, claiming roughly 10,000 applicants and 5,300 admitted students for a recent intake, while admitting in the same paragraph that Radboud does not consistently publish admission statistics. Even Collegedunia now runs "estimated 53% acceptance rate" and "Radboud publishes no official institutional figure" on the same page.

None of this tells you anything about your chances.

Why an Acceptance Rate Misleads you at a Dutch University

Understanding why there is no Radboud University acceptance rate means understanding how Dutch admissions work, because the model is different from the one Indian students know from the US or UK.

For a Master's, you need a Bachelor's degree assessed as equivalent to a Dutch Bachelor's, with a discipline match to your chosen program. Research Master's programs set higher thresholds, typically a stronger grade average and thesis grade. Applicants coming through a university of applied sciences route may be routed into a pre-Master's first.

For a Bachelor's, you need a school-leaving qualification assessed against the Dutch VWO level, plus any subject prerequisites your program sets. Mathematics is a common one for AI, computer science, and Economics tracks.

On English proficiency, one detail matters more than any other for Indian applicants. Radboud lets you demonstrate English through your previous education, but for Bachelor's programs, the exemption list is specific: a diploma equivalent to or higher than Dutch VWO obtained at an institution in an EU/EEA state, Australia, Canada excluding Québec, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom or the United States, with English as the only medium of instruction. Dutch universities charge two different fees. The statutory fee is set by the government and applies mainly to EU and EEA students. For 2026-2027 it is Rs.2,97,929 (€2,694). The institutional fee applies to non-EU/EEA students, including Indians, and it is set per program.

If Radboud Rejects you or the Scholarship Does not Come through

Radboud runs a formal route for deviating from the selection and placement procedure, including missed deadlines caused by force majeure and postponement requests. There are specific forms for each situation. Use them rather than emailing generally.

Your IELTS is below the program requirement. Radboud's minimums are set per program, and a 0.5 gap is usually a six to eight week retake away. Do not submit hoping the shortfall is overlooked, and do not substitute a test variant Radboud excludes.

Your degree certificate has not been issued. Upload your most recent signed and stamped transcript and declare your expected graduation in the application form. Radboud explicitly accommodates this.

Your OSIRIS window is closing. You get 56 days from receiving your login details, less if you applied near the deadline. An incomplete application is cancelled automatically, so upload as you go rather than saving everything for the end.
