OET runs paper tests on set Saturdays and computer tests on many more days, but it does not publish a separate calendar of OET exam dates that candidates in India can follow. OET, the Occupational English Test, is an English test for health professionals.

Our full OET exam guide covers fees, eligibility, and the test pattern, so this page sticks to dates. The fee is about INR 39,300 (AUD 587) for every mode, whichever date you pick.

The fee is converted at 1 AUD = INR 66.93 as of October 2026 and will shift with the exchange rate, so check the latest rate before you pay.

Before you pick from the OET exam dates India nurses and doctors can book, check one thing. A regulator is the official body in your target country that registers nurses or doctors and chooses which English tests it accepts. Its deadline is the one you're really working to.

OET on Paper is the test on paper at a venue, with all four parts on one day, and it runs on Saturdays. The Global table, which is OET's table headed "Global," lists 24 paper Saturdays in 2026. The other two modes work differently:

• OET on Computer: Listening, Reading, and Writing at a venue, then Speaking online from home on another day.
• OET@Home: the test on your own computer at home, offered where no venue is available or with OET's approval.

Read the table one row at a time; each row is one mode.

What this means for you: if your regulator accepts both paper and computer, computer gives far more dates. Paper gaps stretch to three weeks three times a year, so one missed Saturday can cost you up to 21 days.

Most searches for OET exam dates in India include both these paper Saturdays and the computer dates. If your regulator also accepts IELTS, the IELTS exam dates follow a separate calendar.

The only official source is the Test dates section of OET's booking page, which shows a Global computer table and two paper tables. Skip the Americas paper table: it lists Friday dates for that region.

Every row in the Global tables carries four fields:

• Test date: the day you sit the test.
• Book between: the booking window; it ends on the closing date.
• Result published: the date OET publishes results for that sitting.
• Professions available: which profession versions run that day.

The tables aren't labelled by country. So, the OET exam dates that candidates in India rely on need one more check: use "Search for a test near you" to see which venues in India run that date. OET's Test Regulations ask you to check mode, profession, country, and venue availability before booking, and seats are subject to availability.

On the page, the last computer date shown was Thursday, 23 July 2026, so check the booking search for current computer dates.

Searching for OET exam dates in India often brings up copied lists first. Some mix the Friday and Saturday series or show result dates that come before the test. Treat any OET exam dates on the India list outside oet.com as a hint, not a plan.

My insight: Check the oet.com row for your exact date before you pay, because OET marks closing dates as subject to change, and a copied list won't update when one moves.

Read on 29 October 2026. The OET's Global OET Test on Paper table ends on Saturday, 19 December 2026, and lists no 2027 date. It isn't labelled by country, so confirm your venue in India through the booking search.

Each row below comes from that table: the test date, the last booking day, the published result date, and the professions on offer.

On 29 October 2026, OET's table showed two paper dates open for booking: Saturday, 5 December 2026 (booking closes Wednesday, 11 November 2026), and Saturday, 19 December 2026 (closes Wednesday, 25 November 2026). The earlier one closes first, so 11 November is your real deadline if 5 December suits you.

Bookings for the Saturday 7 November 2026 test closed on 14 October 2026, and bookings for Saturday 21 November 2026 closed on 28 October 2026.

The result date in the table is the Global one. OET also says paper candidates tested in India can get results in as little as 5 days, an indicative time, so check the date shown for your booking.

These two rows are the OET exam dates that paper candidates in India can still aim for in 2026. If neither works, the next OET exam dates India candidates need are 2027 rows, which weren't listed on 29 October 2026.

OET's rule is that paper bookings close 24 days before the test date, subject to change, while computer and OET@Home bookings close 7 days before. Closing dates matter more than test dates when you read OET exam dates in India listings.

For computer and OET@Home, the cutoff is 11:59 PM UTC. UTC, or Coordinated Universal Time, is the world reference clock OET uses. India is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead, so that cutoff is at 5:29 AM India time the next morning.

What this information means for you: plan to the result date printed in OET's table, and treat a faster result as a bonus. In that past computer row, the published date was 11 days after the test. All OET result times are indicative and can slip around public holidays and the year end.

Apply the same arithmetic to any OET exam dates India candidates find in the booking search. The fee is charged in Australian dollars, so set up your forex card or bank payment a few days before the cutoff.

My insight: Count back from the result date in OET's table, not from the 48-hour best case, because once the closing date passes, a change costs more and the earlier dates are gone.

Booking for the whole 2026 paper calendar was opened on 10 September 2025, so OET publishes dates long before their closing dates. You can book early.

Planning backward means you start from the date your regulator or employer needs your result, then subtract each step. Do this before you check OET exam dates on the India pages for a slot:

2. Find your latest test date: choose a test with a printed result date that is before your deadline.
3. Find your last booking day: check the closing date on that row, or subtract 24 days for paper and 7 for computer.
4. Leave room for one more sitting: pick a date early enough that a second test still fits.

A date change costs INR 8,000 (AUD 120) before the closing date, so if you book early and then need to change your date, it will cost you far less than the fresh INR 39,300 fee.

If a UK offer for the January intake in the UK sets your timeline, count back from that start date.

Working backward turns a long list of OET exam dates India candidates scroll through into one or two real choices.

My insight: Fix your result deadline before you book anything, because a date picked first and checked later can leave no room for a second sitting.

On OET's Global paper table, Nursing and Medicine appear on every Saturday date, while five other professions appear only on alternate dates. Your profession narrows the OET exam dates India candidates can use:

• Medicine: on every paper date; on the doctor route to the UK, confirm accepted modes with the regulator first.

Your city matters. Check venue availability in the official booking search and pick a venue you can reach. OET@Home has limits: it's for places with no venue, and not every regulator accepts it, so check who recognizes OET in your mode.

Bookings for Saturday, 21 November 2026, closed on 28 October 2026, so anyone who wanted that date needs another plan. Here's what to do for each problem:

• The date you wanted has closed: paper closes earlier than a computer, so a computer date in the same week may still be open.
• The date or venue is full: seats are subject to availability, so try another venue, date, or mode your regulator accepts.
• No venue near you: search other venues first; OET@Home is offered where venue testing isn't available, and not every regulator accepts it.
• Results will land after your deadline: check the printed result date before booking, then ask your regulator or employer whether it can wait. Ask whether it allows clubbing, which means combining results from different test dates to reach the required score; that's the regulator's call, not OET's.
• The date no longer suits: a test administration is one set of OET test dates, and you can hold only one booking in each. Moving costs INR 8,000 (AUD 120) before the closing date and INR 13,400 (AUD 200) after.
• Other exams run on other calendars: UK doctors also book the PLAB exam, and medical graduates from abroad plan the FMGE exam separately.
