Quick Read
- The DHA Prometric exam is booked only after DHA issues your Eligibility ID, not before
- Prometric runs test centres in several Indian cities, with no fixed annual exam calendar
- Rescheduling needs at least 5 calendar days’ notice; the fee is non-refundable otherwise
- Your official result posts to Sheryan as Pass or Fail, separate from Prometric’s own letter
What Is Prometric and How It Relates to DHA
Prometric and DHA play two different roles in your exam:
- DHA sets the exam content, the pass score, and who is eligible to sit it.
- Prometric is the independent testing company DHA contracts to run the test centres, schedule appointments, and administer the exam itself.

Your DHA Prometric exam booking happens on Prometric's own platform, separate from the Sheryan portal where your eligibility and licensing records live. DHA issues your Eligibility ID through Sheryan; you then take that ID to Prometric to book a seat. A delay or mismatch between the two systems is one of the most common points of confusion for Indian applicants.

How to Apply for the DHA Prometric Exam
Here's how to apply for the DHA Prometric exam as part of the DHA Prometric exam registration overall:
- Complete DataFlow PSV and DHA's credential review first. You cannot register for a Prometric slot before this clears. See our DHA Licensing guide for the full process.
- Receive your Eligibility ID through Sheryan once DHA confirms you meet the requirements for your title.
- Go to prometric.com/DHA and search for the DHA examination category that matches your profession.
- Enter your DHA Unique ID and Eligibility ID to link your Prometric booking to your DHA record.
- Choose a test centre, date and time from the available slots.
- Pay the exam fee electronically (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) to confirm the booking.
- Save your confirmation email, which lists your test date, reporting time, and centre address; bring a copy or screenshot on exam day.
Counselor insight: Indian applicants often under-budget the time between getting the Eligibility ID and actually sitting the exam. Popular Indian cities can have limited slots in a given month, so book as soon as your Eligibility ID is issued rather than waiting to feel "fully prepared."
DHA Prometric Exam Fees
The DHA Prometric exam fee is paid directly to Prometric at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
| Profession group | Fee |
| DHA Prometric exam fees for doctors (GPs and most specialists) and General Dentists | USD 280 (AED 1,028 / ₹26,947) |
| DHA Prometric exam fees for nurses (Registered Nurse, Assistant Nurse, Midwife), pharmacists, and physiotherapists | USD 240 (AED 881 / ₹23,098) |
If you're paying the DHA Prometric exam fee in India, note that Prometric still bills in USD, so your card issuer's own conversion rate and any foreign-transaction markup apply on top of the figures above.
Doctors, dentists and physiotherapists each have their own exam code, question count and pass score beyond what's shown here: see our dedicated guides to the DHA exam for doctors, DHA exam for dentists and DHA exam for physiotherapists for exact figures.

Exchange rate note: The AED figure in brackets uses the UAE's fixed peg of 1 USD = AED 3.6725, and the INR figure uses 1 USD = ₹96.24, the rate as of October 2026. Reconfirm the INR rate at the time of payment.
Note: DHA publishes exam fees in US Dollars, the currency actually used for payment.
DHA Prometric Exam Pattern, Syllabus, and Passing Score
- Format: Single-best-answer multiple-choice questions, delivered in English, with no negative marking.
- Length: Most titles sit 150 questions over 3 hours, including Registered Nurse and Assistant Nurse.
- Passing score: The passing score for DHA Prometric exam is not uniform. It's set per title in DHA's own CBT Guideline and ranges from 45% to 70%. Registered Nurses need 50%; most physicians and General Dentists need 60%.
- Syllabus: The DHA Prometric exam syllabus is organized as content domains, not a percentage-weighted blueprint, with reference textbooks published per title. The DHA Prometric exam syllabus for nurses covers Unit Management and Leadership, Fundamentals, Maternal-Child Nursing, and Adult Nursing, tested across 150 DHA Prometric exam questions for nurses in 3 hours.
For DHA Prometric exam preparation tips and the full exam code, question count, and pass-score table across every title, including pharmacists and physiotherapists, see our DHA License Exam guide. Allied health titles not covered above, including lab technicians, radiographers, and optometrists, follow the same per-title structure: see our dedicated guides for the DHA exam for lab technicians, DHA exam for radiographers, and DHA exam for optometrists for exact fees and pass marks.
DHA Prometric Exam Centres in India
You do not need to travel to Dubai to take the DHA Prometric exam. Prometric operates test centres across India, with DHA exams commonly offered in:
- Mumbai
- Delhi NCR (including Gurugram and Noida)
- Bangalore
- Chennai
- Hyderabad
- Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram
- Kolkata
- Ahmedabad
- Pune
Counselor insight: Treat this as a starting list, not a guarantee. Which centres are actually open for DHA exams, and which have seats on your preferred date, changes with Prometric's own scheduling and capacity. Always confirm live availability inside the Prometric booking tool at prometric.com/DHA using your Eligibility ID rather than assuming a centre near you is active. Candidates in smaller cities sometimes find their nearest active centre is a neighboring state capital rather than their home city.

DHA Prometric Exam Schedule and Dates
There are no fixed DHA Prometric exam dates published on an annual calendar. Once your Eligibility ID is issued, you choose your own date from whatever slots Prometric is open at your selected centre, and the exam runs year-round on weekdays.
This is good news for planning but means popular dates and centres in major Indian cities can fill up, especially close to common application deadlines for Dubai hospital hiring cycles. Book your slot as soon as you're eligible rather than waiting for a specific date to open up.
Rescheduling and Cancelling Your DHA Prometric Exam
- Reschedule or cancel through the Prometric website, logging in with the same credentials you used to book.
- You must do this at least 5 calendar days before your scheduled exam date.
- A change made inside that 5-day window counts as a no-show, not a reschedule, and forfeits the fee.
- The exam fee is non-refundable regardless of why you reschedule or cancel; you'll need to pay again for the new slot.
- A centre may also charge its own change fee on top of what DHA and Prometric already collect, so check the fee shown at the time you make the change.
Counselor insight: If something comes up close to your exam date, rescheduling even at the last permissible moment is almost always better than a no-show, since a no-show still costs the fee and leaves you with nothing booked.
What Happens at the Prometric Test Centre
- Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment for check-in.
- Bring the same valid passport you used to register in Sheryan; any mismatch can delay or block entry.
- Expect standard security screening: showing arms and ankles, emptying pockets, and a handheld metal-detector scan.
- Electronic devices, smartwatches, notes, and written materials are not allowed inside the testing room.
- The test itself runs on a Prometric workstation; most titles get 3 hours for 150 questions, with no penalty for a wrong or unanswered question.
DHA Prometric Exam Result: What You Actually Get and How to Check It
A DHA Prometric exam result check starts in the right place, since this is where most confusion happens. After the exam, Prometric sends you a Learning Outcome letter showing general strengths and weaknesses by topic area. This letter is not your result, and it does not say whether you passed.
Your actual DHA Prometric exam result is decided and released only by DHA, through your Sheryan account, as a simple Pass or Fail. DHA does not share your numeric score, a percentage, or a breakdown, regardless of what the Learning Outcome letter shows.
To check your DHA Prometric exam result:
- Log into your Sheryan account.
- Check your application or exam status section.
- Look for the Pass or Fail decision, typically posted within 2 working days of a computer-based exam (3 to 5 working days for an oral assessment).
If you pass, your Registration Certificate is issued and valid for one year from the result date; a DHA-licensed facility still has to activate it into a full license once you have a job offer.
Common DHA Prometric Exam Booking Issues for Indian Candidates
- Passport name mismatch: Your Prometric booking and Sheryan registration must show identical name details. Fix this with DHA at least 5 days before your exam, not at the test centre door.
- Slot scarcity in smaller cities: Tier-2 and Tier-3 Indian cities may have no active DHA Prometric centre at all; candidates sometimes need to travel to the nearest metro.
- Eligibility ID delays: Booking is blocked entirely until DHA issues this ID. Applicants sometimes blame Prometric for a booking failure that is actually a pending DHA eligibility review.
- Payment card declines: International transactions on Indian cards occasionally trigger a flag from the issuing bank. Inform your bank before attempting payment if such an issue has happened to you before.
- Confusing the Learning Outcome letter for a pass: Covered above, but worth repeating: only Sheryan's Pass or Fail status is official.

3 Takeaways on the DHA Prometric Exam
- Prometric runs the test; DHA sets the rules and releases the result. Book only after Sheryan issues your Eligibility ID, and check your result there too, never from Prometric's Learning Outcome letter.
- Indian test-centre availability (Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Pune, commonly) changes with live Prometric capacity, so confirm your slot on the booking tool rather than assuming a city is active.
- Reschedule at least 5 calendar days out if you need to; the fee is non-refundable either way, so a late change is still cheaper than a no-show.
