When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

The activity that wastes a lot of time is scrolling. It is very common for any person and I'm a victim. I often find myself scrolling in YouTube Shorts or TikTok or Instagram just on random times. I believe my body is so in habit of going to the platform and start scrolling that I do not even realize how much time I spend my time scrolling. One time at a weekend I decided to scroll for a bit but then once I looked at the time I realized that two hours passed by and I kept on scrolling. Usually throughout the day I have the urge of scrolling once every three to four hours. Whenever I'm not on my phone I find my fingers just moving up and down. It happens every day due to it being very attractive. My dopamine level increases and I've become very addicted to this so has every other person. I am currently trying to resolve it by deleting the application itself but my brain tells me to not do it for the better but my heart tells me and forces me to download the application again and start scrolling. Till now I keep on scrolling but I have had a little control on it as well as I'm wasting a lot of time in my life and for what? Just scrolling and neither gaining or benefiting anything from this. So that's why that's the activity that wastes my time.

Band 6-7

The activity that I feel wastes my time is probably watching the phone. Well, it's because I have observed that usually when I'm studying and suddenly I feel overwhelmed with whatever I've done, and I feel tired, I try to distract my mind from whatever's going on. So, I jump off to listening to music or probably watching some YouTube or Instagram. But in the course of doing all that, the aim which was to get a little distracted or just get a little away from what I was doing, from the humblesome work that I was performing, I usually end up wasting my time like just scrolling on Reels or something. And ultimately, it results that I just do not complete the task I was supposed to. Probably, I do not complete finishing my work. Probably, I do not complete my assignments. Something or the other that has been delayed now and all my schedule then goes haywire. So, basically, I would... It just comes not naturally. Like, I just don't have a control on myself at that time. So, I just go with the flow and feel that it wastes a lot of my time. Although I know it wastes my time, but still, at that moment, I go with the flow and I do not understand what's wrong. Ultimately, whatever's left with me is nothing but... Zero.

Band 6-7

Time is a, time plays a pivotal role in everyone's life. I'm a person who always values time. Here I'm going to talk about an activity that usually wastes my time, which is nothing but scrolling on mobile phone. I'm an overuser of mobile phone. In fact, I start my day by scrolling on social media like Instagram and WhatsApp. As I mentioned before, I'm a big user of social media. Being an introvert, sorry, being an extrovert, I like to make new friends. So by the help of these various kinds of social media, I try to get a lot of friends. By scrolling on these kinds of social media, I tend to waste my time, which I could be utilized for some other activities like reading books or talking to my family members and so on. So whenever I use my mobile phone, the time just flies because I couldn't recognize or I couldn't realize how much time that I'm being on my phone. Even though mobile phone has its own pros and cons, the particular gadget made me to have a long time on my phone.

Band 6-7

One activity that usually wastes my time has undoubtedly, it has to be spending time on social media, be it Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, all these apps are available at all times because I'm always carrying my phone, it's always on me. And not because I want to do that, but it's become a requisite, even when I'm exercising, I need to have my phone on my laptop to see the timer or to watch a workout video. Even when I'm working, I need my phone to maybe get an OTP, reply to emails. So with phone being so close to me at all times, I'm always scrolling one reel after the other, one YouTube shot of the other, one TikTok video after the other, and I just end up wasting so much of my time. And the reason why I feel this is the case is because A, it's giving me a dump of information that's not even relevant to me. For example, I was looking at a YouTube shot that was teaching me how to do a hairstyle for school-going girls in under 12 minutes. It's been seven years since I've passed out of school, and while I know I can still practice that hairstyle, but I'm not even into hairstyling. And the other example that I would like to share with you is online shopping apps. I mean, the algorithm is such that it's constantly trying to feed you the information that it wants you to, and it's always trying to show you things that you don't need, you 100% don't require them, but you're still buying into it because you're constantly seeing that on your screens. Yesterday, I got a chopper that slices bananas. I mean, I could have just peeled it and had the whole thing by myself, but...

One of the activity that usually waste most of my time is packing my skincare and body care products while I am travelling. This is probably because I use a lot of products for my skin and body. When it comes to travelling from one place to another place, it usually consumes most of my time rather than packing for my clothes and other things. Moreover, I don't think I can take each and every product from one place to other place while travelling but some products are very necessary and it needs extra care while packing them. So I think I could find a more alternate way to take this safely while packing while moving from one place to other place and furthermore, packing hair care products is also a hassle because all of these bottles and the packaging, it's very complicated and it's rather difficult to pack them in an easy order. In order to keep them safe, it requires a lot more care while packing it. Yeah, I do think packing all of these hair care products, skincare products and body care products wastes my time while packing.

Band 6-7

The activity that I consider is a waste is me travelling by bus from my township to my plant. Why I am saying this as a time waste is, before the bus we used to travel by bike from township to plant. This would take us around 15 to 10 minutes, but now travelling by bus it takes us around 30 to 35 minutes, which is a waste of time. From within our one hour lunch time, we have to get from our plant to township and back to plant. This will, with our given one hour lunch time, this will take around 20 to 30 minutes only for travel. And apart from this, I do think this is a good approach to reduce the pollution and it is a sustainability point of view has been taken into account. But still, this is a point that where the company should also consider that the time of the employee who is working is also important. Maybe they can allow on a certain days, so that they can restrict the other days and they can maintain the standards, so and the employee also can be happy.

Band 6-7

The activity that I considered is waste of time scrolling my Instagram website. I usually do when I get a time and I particularly take time out of my schedule, my working duty and I go on scrolling on Instagram and I see the people posting their day-to-day activities. Sometimes just I get involved in that and I started feeling like why they have been so much, they just, why they are so much involved, it influences me and it sometimes depresses me that I don't have that what they possess. So I think this is what makes me think that this activity is waste of time but being just getting in touch with what they are going through is not waste of time but being getting involved and getting influenced by them, their activities will divert our mind moreover it has both advantages that we can keep our mind in peace and get sort of entertainment with that. However, just we must not get completely involved and get influenced by them. Many when I feel like they are showing what only they have to show and the insight is very vast to be seen which they are hiding, so we must not get affected by them. Many people who are very emotional and sensitive, they get affected by that. So I think waste of time.

Band 6-7

Today I would like to talk about the activities that consumed most of my time. So while I was in China, I bought this gaming console called PlayStation 5. I bought it during my intern year. I carried it from China to India which is my home country. I used to play with the console a lot. I spent most of my time with the console which affected my school performance. I used to get really low grades which made me feel really sad. My parents used to scold me and they were like, what are you doing with your life? You need to study and do your post-graduation. But I got so addicted with the console that I even left studying. That was the thing that greatly affected my life. But after few years, I got to know the importance of studies and then I threw the console away and started studying for my post-graduation. Today I cleared my PLAB exam which is a United Kingdom Medical Licensing exam which helped me do my post-graduation in United Kingdom. With the help of getting rid of this console, it changed my life in a positive way. When compared with other people, I have...

I would like to share about an activity which completely wastes my time, that is, scrolling reels in Instagram. Everyday I scroll reels upto few hours to pass the time. Like literally I will become a couch potato when I am watching the shots or reels in Instagram. Like when I am starting scrolling, it's like a common thing. I don't know that I am still watching last 2-3 hours, when I realize the time, I feel like it wasted a lot of time. This is not only my problem, personally speaking, I think a lot of people are suffering from this problem, like scrolling reels is an unwanted activity, even we can know some current affairs are like social life things, even though it wastes our time.

Band 5-6

The activity that usually wastes my time is sleeping. I normally sleep when I am free or I don't have anything to do. I think sleeping just wastes a lot of time of me because in that period of time I can usually do my work or I can do some research related to my knowledge. Sleeping much is not good for health, I feel, but if I don't have anything to do, I just sleep, which is a bad habit. I just want to correct this habit by just converting it into some fruitful work by looking something related to my education or my projects or just utilizing it in some work. In this time, I can also do my fitness work such as going for gym or doing some exercise. So yes, I think sleeping is a bad habit and I should avoid it.
