When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

My friend Nisha likes to grow trees and plants every month because she believes that growing plants gives her a lot of happiness and she feels very delighted when she plants a tree. And I think it's a good habit for us also to make our environment greenery and we should always plant more and more so we might not face any of the challenges in the future regarding pollution or bad breath, bad air, anything like that and also I have seen that most of the times people were suffering from asthma due to the bad air condition. The more we grow plants the more the air gets purified so we should always grow plants.

My parents actually love growing plants and they have their own garden on the balcony. Particularly my dad is more fond of gardening as compared to my mom. But since my mom supports everything my dad does, so she helps him out with gardening. They actually really enjoy this time together. And since my dad lives in Pune and my mom lives in Kolhapur, they don't get enough time together. So they make sure that every weekend whenever my dad visits, they spend at least 30 minutes to an hour gardening together. They have grown a lot of different types of plants like we have Tulsi. They have also planted Lotus just two weeks back. There is this one plant called Brahma Kamal which is quite auspicious for Indian families. Whenever it blooms, it has beautiful white flowers and it symbolizes that something great is going to happen in the family. I feel that since the time my parents have started gardening, they have become really calm and it helps them relax. They are quite burdened with responsibilities and work. So this hobby helps them get over the frustration and reconnect with the nature and themselves. Last month, it was my mom's birthday.

From the time I could remember as a child, I have always seen my mom very much into growing plants and beautiful flowers in our garden. But during my high school time, if I could remember correctly, she had a lot of things going on with her personal life and her professional life. She is a music teacher, so she had to take her online classes and her offline classes and was very much caught up with it and also had to take care of other things. And she found herself to be very busy that she couldn't take good care of her plants and eventually they all dried out. But then again, it was during the COVID-19 time that she had a lot of time in hand and she then devoted most of her time to growing new plants and taking care of them like how she used to before. And I feel it gives her a sense of happiness and she takes care of them as her own children and she makes sure however tired she is every evening that she waters them regularly. Our garden looks so beautiful from outside and whoever comes to visit our home has this start of a conversation by appreciating how beautifully it has been maintained and kept. And the entire credit of all of that goes to my mom and no one else because it was completely her project and her dream to make it so beautiful. And I often see her just smiling at them at times and looking at it and feeling so proud from inside and that gives me immense happiness.

Today I would like to tell you about someone I know who truly enjoys growing plants. Her name is Ayesha, and she's been passionate about gardening for as long as I can remember. Ayesha finds joy and peace in spending time with her plants. For her, it's more than just a hobby, it's a way to relax and disconnect from the stress of daily life. She often says that watching a tiny seed grow into a full-blooming plant gives her a deep sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. She mainly grows herbs, vegetables, and flowering plants. A little rooftop garden is full of colorful flowers like marigolds, roses, and petunias. And she also grows mint, coriander, tomatoes, and even small chilies. It's amazing to see how she can grow in a limited space. Ayesha takes great care of her garden. She waters the plants regularly, making her own compost from kitchen waste, and even talks to them sometimes. She believes it helps them grow better. What's really inspiring is how she shares her knowledge and even gives away small pots to friends and neighbors to encourage them to start their own gardens. For Ayesha, growing plants isn't just about greenery, it's about spreading life, beauty, and a bit of happiness in her corner of the world.

My father really enjoys growing plants as he has a strong affinity towards plants since his young days. For him, plants are like his kids and he really enjoys gardening in his free time when he is not working. Usually he spends his evenings watering his plants and on weekends he personally works on making manures and fertilizers. Additionally, he also likes spending extra time in understanding where he is lacking in growing the plant and where he can improve. He also encourages me to watch YouTube videos for the betterment of a plant's life. During the weekends, he especially spends time in maintaining the plants by cutting them.

One person I know who absolutely loves growing plants is my aunt, Mrs. Sarma. She lives in a small town and has turned her entire rooftop into a beautiful garden. I have known her since I was a child and I have always been amazed by her passion for gardening. She grows a wide variety of plants. Her collection includes flowering plants like roses, marigolds, and hibiscus. She also grows many indoor plants like money plant, aloe vera, and snake plant. But what's really impressive is that she grows her own vegetables too, like tomatoes, chilies, spinach, and even cucumbers. Her garden looks vibrant and full of life all year round. I think she enjoys growing plants because it brings her peace and joy. She says spending time with her plants is like therapy. It relaxes her mind. Also, she believes that growing your food is healthier and more satisfying. She often shares her homegrown vegetables with friends and family, which makes her feel even happier. What's more, she's very knowledgeable about plant care. She knows exactly how much sunlight and water each plant needs. Sometimes, she even helps her neighbors set up their own small gardens. In my opinion, she's not only a plant lover, but also someone who inspires others to connect with nature. I admire her dedication, and I have started growing a few plants at home thanks to her influence. Thank you.

    Band 6-7

My grandmother is really enthusiastic about growing plants. She is a very hardworking and quick-witted lady. And she has a lot of knowledge about how to grow plants with adding a significant level of pesticides along with fertilizers and other necessary stuff used in growing plants. She tends to grow different kinds of plants and fruits along with a few vegetables. She has created a small garden of her own in our backyard. There used to be a time in our home when she would be able to grow so much quantity of food that every single person who used to visit us would go back after carrying at least 2 kgs of tomatoes in their hands. Subsequently, she always tries to grow her own plants as she is really fond of organic food. And due to her old age, she doesn't really trust the farmers nowadays and is really selective. She is really peculiar about the food that she gives us to eat. She really tries to maintain the health of all the family members. Gardening along with knitting is one of her favorite hobbies. She invests most of her time in our backyard trying to grow different kinds of fruits.

My dad actually is very much interested in cultivating and growing plants, particularly at home. I remember he picked up this hobby during the lockdown period and he used to teach us how to grow plants if we ever wanted to. He described the process of growing plants with the help of manure and dirt and how wet the dirt should be. Also, I feel that growing plants is a hobby which brings peaceful nature to a person's personality. I feel it adds a lot to a person's household and brings some vibrant colours and life to the household. Additionally, I think that growing plants requires a lot of patience which I feel my father took upon during the lockdown very nicely. I remember he used to eat mangoes and take the seeds of the mangoes and grow the seed into a glass of water. Even after a year or so, it used to bring out some tendrils and stems out of that pit. I think that having such patience brings out so much more out of a person.

    Band 6-7

My mom, she loves to grow plants and she wants that nature should surround her and it is her comfort zone to stay around the nature and feel the freshness of the nature. Even though today's generation, we don't plant plenty of trees or plants, it's affecting our environment, but my mom loves to grow plants and protect them and she has grown the plants around our home boundaries so that some animals or some kind of bugs, they don't eat the plants, so she grows under the home area and she has planted many trees, many flowers around our garden area and she is obsessed with what she is doing and she loves our profession, what she is doing and she wants that nature should connect along with us, so that in future, we get some kind of good environment. So, she loves planting plants.

    Band 6-7

My grandfather, he loves gardening. He's the only person who grows, who do proper care of gardens. He loves to grow many things, whether it is flowers, plants, flowers or different types of plants for the showcase. Even vegetables as well, including tomato, green chillies, brinjal, spring onions and many more. He grows them throughout the year, according to the season, whatever vegetable is in the season. So he grows them or flowers or he waters them. He's the only person who takes care of the entire garden. There are many types of plants in my house. He bought them and it's his hobby. He loves gardening, he does it as a hobby. After retirement, he started gardening as a hobby and now he's doing it almost the entire day. My grandmother scolds him a lot. He doesn't even take care of his diet. He's completely focused on his plants. He loves his plants basically. And whenever we pluck any flowers or something, he scolds us like, don't do that, don't do this, don't touch them. And he basically grows it at our home. We have a small garden at our home. So basically he made that garden, none of us wanted it. He wanted that garden, so my father just spared the place. Do whatever you want at that place. He does all of this by himself. We don't have a gardener or anything or any caretaker. He's the only one who takes care.
