The University of Bristol Mumbai Campus officially opened its doors in Powai on Thursday, September 10, 2026, welcoming its first cohort of students to India’s newest UK degree campus.
This is Bristol’s first international campus anywhere in the world, arriving in the university’s 150th anniversary year. The campus sits at the Cignus Powai development, directly opposite IIT Bombay.

The University of Bristol Mumbai Campus received its Letter of Approval from the University Grants Commission, under India’s Ministry of Education, on June 9, 2026, the regulatory clearance that allowed teaching to begin this year.
- Bristol expects to enrol up to 250 students in its first year, with that number projected to exceed 2,500 by the fifth year.
- Six degree programs are open for 2026 entry: BSc Data Science, BSc Economics, BSc Economics with Data Science (three-year UG), MSc Finance and Investment, MSc Financial Technology with Data Science, and MA Immersive Arts (one-year PG), listed on the official programs page.
- Annual fees, per the university’s fee schedule: BSc Data Science costs Rs.15,00,000 a year for domestic students and Rs.17,00,000 for international students; MSc Finance and Investment costs Rs.22,00,000 domestic and Rs.24,00,000 international. One-time charges add a Rs.2,000 application fee, Rs.50,000 admission fee, and Rs.50,000 security deposit.
- Bristol has signed a global strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services and received a ยฃ1.5 million (Rs.19.4 crore) philanthropic gift from the Shanta Foundation to support research and student mobility between Mumbai and Bristol.ย
