The Karnataka Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department is holding its second annual Study Abroad Expo in Bengaluru on September 6, 2026, with more than 60 universities from countries including the UK and Australia confirmed to attend. The free, single-day event follows last year’s edition, which drew over 3,000 registrations and has since produced 33 confirmed international admissions, with 251 applications still under active review.
What’s on Offer
- 60+ participating universities, from institutions across the UK, Australia, and other destinations.
- Structured slot bookings for pre-eligible candidates, rather than an unstructured walk-in format.
- State department advisory desks covering merit-based scholarships, collateral-free education loans, financial assistance schemes, course selection guidance, and foreign language proficiency training.
- Free registration and access, run under the Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation’s (KVTSDC) Study Abroad scheme, part of the state’s Department of Skill Development.
Track Record So Far
The Study Abroad scheme isn’t new; this is its second expo cycle. Last year’s edition connected over 5,000 registered Karnataka students with 60+ international universities, with banks setting up stalls offering education loans at competitive rates alongside the university stands. This year’s expo scales up institutional participation on that base, with 33 admissions already confirmed and a further 251 applications actively in process from the previous cycle.

How to Register
Registration goes through the scheme's dedicated portal at KVTSDC. The scheme is open to Karnataka students applying for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, or professional courses at foreign institutions and provides free counseling, direct university connections, and post-departure support, including welfare and legal aid beyond just the expo day itself.
Why It Matters for Karnataka Students
This is a genuinely low-effort, no-cost way to get face time with 60+ international universities, loan officers, and scholarship counselors in a single day, without travel or application-fee outlay, particularly useful for students who haven't yet narrowed down a destination country or are weighing costs across the UK, Australia, and other options side by side. The structured slot-booking system also means it's worth registering early rather than planning to walk in, since eligible candidates get scheduled access rather than general queuing.
