The University of Portsmouth was established in 1992 as an open university in Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK. Earlier, the university was developed as a public library and a community college known as the Portsmouth Polytechnic. Later, with the help of the Further and Higher Education Act, this university got its current status. At present, it is considered to be one of the top 100 educational institutions across the world.
The university's strength lies in pharmacy, software engineering, property development, sports science, geology, environmental sciences, architecture, accounting, finance, and many more. The university offers over 350 undergraduate and postgraduate programs and over 65 research degree courses—M.Sc. in Construction Project, M.Sc. in Data Analytics, B.Sc in Computing, B. A in Hospitality Management, MBA, and M.Sc in Advanced Manufacturing Technology are some of the university's top courses.
