About the Scholarship

  • Students from the Tibetan Plateau or neighboring nations or areas can apply for the Williams Papworth Studentship, which grants full or partial financial support. 
  • The studentship aims to help students who are passionate about putting their knowledge into practice and/or developing new concepts. 
  • The applicant's ability to make a major, beneficial, and forward-thinking contribution to his or her society and the wider globe is valued more than the applicant's field of study, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. Criminology, Veterinary Science, Business, Conservation Leadership, Business, Linguistics, and Education have all been studied by previous students.
  •  Applications from people interested in studying other academic disciplines are also accepted, though those interested in studying Social Anthropology will not generally be given priority.

Scholarship amount details

  • The value of the studentship will be determined by the amount of personal or other financing available to the recipient.

Eligibility

  • In most cases, the studentship is provided for one-year postgraduate courses. 
  • Those seeking PhD funding or who have spent significant amounts of time studying in universities in Western Europe, the United States, Canada, or Australia will only be considered in rare circumstances.
  • Applicants who are ethnically or culturally connected to the Himalayan region may be given preference.

Application Process

  • LOR: One reference from a supervisor is required
  • Essay: It is required for admission purpose. The following are the main essay questions on the Cambridge MBA application: 
    • Please provide a personal statement. It should not exceed 500 words and must address the following questions:
      • What are your short and long-term career objectives and what skills/characteristics do you already have that will help you achieve them?
      • What actions will you take before and during the MBA to contribute to your career outcome?
      • If you are unsure of your post-MBA career path, how will the MBA equip you for the future?

         
    • What did you learn from your most spectacular failure? (200 words) 
    • Describe a situation where you had to work jointly with others to achieve a common goal. What did you learn from the experience? (up to 200 words)

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.
