About the Scholarship

  • This award supports the University of Kentucky's Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Vision. The University will aggressively admit and retain students from all segments of society, including students of different races, ethnicities, socioeconomic status, sexes, sexual orientation, gender identities, disability status, religious traditions, political beliefs, and geographic backgrounds, in order to reap the educational benefits of a diverse student body.
  • Contribution to diversity, test scores, grades, essay, leadership experience, extracurricular activities, awards and recognition, and community service are all factors evaluated in the comprehensive examination of William C. Parker Scholarship applicants.
  • The applicant's rating within the competitive pool will determine the value of the award, with values ranging based on meritorious factors. The William C. Parker Scholarship Program allows students to receive only one grant.
  • Unfortunately, not every outstanding student who satisfies the qualifications and applies will be awarded a William C. Parker scholarship. However, it is guaranteed that each applicant's application will be considered and treated fairly in this highly competitive procedure.
