Scholarship amount details

$10,000 for students studying in the United States and $5,000 for those studying in Canada will be awarded based on the strength of candidates' academic backgrounds and a demonstrated passion for computer science (based on tuition costs).

Eligibility

  • Continuing current studies or intending to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a neprogramme (e.g., graduating and pursuing an advanced degree) at a university in the United States or Canada in the 2022-2023 academic year (freshmen/first years and international students studying in the United States or Canada are eligible to apply).
  • Obtaining a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical discipline (such as software engineering; or electrical engineering with a heavy computer science course load)
    Maintaining a high academic standing
  • A student with a visible or invisible disability (defined as someone who has, or believes they have, a long-term or recurring issue that affects one or more major activities that others might consider daily functions); this definition also includes the perception that a disability exists among others. We recognize that 90% of disabilities on campus are invisible, and we urge applicants with all disabilities to apply.
  • Demonstrate leadership and a commitment to and enthusiasm for computer science and technology.
Unfortunately, previous Google Lime Scholars will not be considered.

Application Process

  • You can apply by logging into or joining The Lime Network once the application is live. There, you'll find a link to our online application system, where you'll enter the following information:
  • Information about contact, education, and experience
Unofficial transcripts and a current resume
  • Three essays - this is your chance to demonstrate your enthusiasm for computer science.
  • Professors, advisers, or supervisors should write one letter of recommendation (names and email addresses of references must be entered by the application deadline - letters of recommendation themselves are due one week later)
