- Susan R. Meisinger served as SHRM's president and CEO from March 2002 until her retirement in July 2008, when this fellowship was established in her honour.
- Sue Meisinger is passionate about human resources and believes that HR professionals must prepare for a career in human resources not just by obtaining experience, but also by pursuing a solid, useful, and strict education in the subject of human resources.
