About the Scholarship

  • The Jon W. Mark Graduate Scholarship in Communication at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was established to recognize Dr. Mark's significant achievements and contributions, which include serving as former Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineeringisng recognized as a Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Life Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Founder and Director of the Centre for Wireless Communication.
  • Full-time graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering will receive $3,000 scholarships each year. 
  • Students engaging in communication research are given priority. 
  • Normally, each Fall, the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will nominate candidates and select beneficiaries. 
  • This fund was established thanks to a donation from multiple donors in honor of Jon W. Mark, to carry on his legacy while paving the road for the successful careers of his children.

Full-time graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering will receive $3,000 scholarships each year. 

Eligibility

  • Graduate students enrolled in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering on a full-time basis.

  • Students engaging in communication research are given priority.

  • Normally, each Fall, the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will nominate candidates and select beneficiaries.

  • The student is selected automatically by Faculty and Department.
  • Canadian, Permanent resident, International study, and permit student
