• Scholarships are unrestricted financial aid that might assist you in paying for your education, particularly if you have a solid academic background.
• If you're interested in applying for one of Kent State's international student scholarships, our Office of Global Education can assist you. 
• Apply at KSU and see whether you qualify for financial help.

• Most assistantships are awarded to doctoral students and some programs fund 100% of their graduate students while others do not.

At the graduate level, there are three types of financial aid available. 

• A graduate assistantship is the first and most common option. 
• The student will receive a tuition remission and a monthly stipend in exchange for up to 20 hours of labour per week during the academic year. 
• A teaching or research fellowship, on the other hand, provides a full tuition remission and a monthly stipend, allowing students to focus only on teaching or research rather than departmental responsibilities. 
• The third type is a scholarship, which may or may not require outside money and may or may not include a university or departmental competition.
