Scholarship amount details
- The scholarship is only for the first year of study and is worth £2,000 total.
- Payment will be made in two instalments via bank transfer, usually in February and May.
- You must open a UK bank account, and we will contact you via email prior to each payment date to request that you submit your bank account information into My Essex so that payment may be made.
- To be eligible for funding, students must be enrolled in full-time classes (see bursary suspension below).
- Please note that if our records show that you owe the University money at the time an award payment is due, the payment will be applied to your student account first, and you will be entitled to any remaining funds.
Eligibility
- Have been offered admission to the University of Essex for the academic year 2022-23;
- Have registered for a full-time undergraduate degree1 at the University of Essex, with first enrolment in 2022-23;
- Be in your first year of study at the University at the time of the award;
- Be in your first year of study at the University at the time of the award;
- Have a score of 34 or above on the International Baccalaureate.
- Applicants that are chosen should be available for promotional activities.
Application Process
- You will be automatically considered for the bursary if you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
- There is no need to fill out an application form.
- By November 2022, successful applicants will be notified via their Essex email account.
