About the Scholarship

  • IIT provides institutional scholarships to international students in the range of $40,000–$80,000 over four years of undergraduate study as part of Illinois Tech's commitment to enrolling a diverse and outstanding student body. 
  • First-year and transfer students from abroad may be eligible for a range of financial aid programmes, including institutional grants and Phi Theta Kappa membership. 
  • Each application for institutional scholarships is automatically evaluated based on the student's academic success, community activity, and other accomplishments. No further application is necessary.
  • International students are needed to submit the Financial Affidavit of Support to prove their ability, or the ability of an individual or government sponsor, to pay their education because they are expected to do so during their time spent studying at Illinois Tech.

Scholarship amount details

  • Full-tuition based on the student's first-year tuition rates. Each year, the same amount is awarded, and it does not cover the expense of a tuition increase. 
  • Students can get up to four years of undergraduate tuition; if they are enrolled in an architecture degree, they can receive up to five years.
  • Camras Scholars are expected to make significant contributions to the Illinois Tech community and school in three areas known as the Camras Pillars: leadership, research, and service.

Eligibility

  • Meet stringent selection criteria, including great academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, and a commitment to leadership.
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours every semester as a full-time student.
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (Dreamer friendly)

Application Process

  • Use the Early Decision I (binding) or Early Action I (non-binding) application deadlines to submit your application.
  • To be considered for this scholarship, Camras scholars must submit their completed application (including transcripts and official test scores) to Illinois Tech by November 15.
  • There is no need to submit a separate scholarship application. If an application is chosen as a Camras Scholarship finalist, they will be notified in late December.
  • Candidates who are chosen as finalists must attend Illinois Tech's Scholarship Symposium in February to participate in a round table discussion with a faculty member and other finalists.
