About the Scholarship
- This prize was established in honour of the late M. Chandrashekar, a long-serving professor in the Department of Systems Design Engineering.
- At the time of application, the awardee should be a full-time graduate student at the University of Waterloo. He or she cannot be more than three terms into a Postgraduate program or nine terms into a Doctoral program.

Scholarship amount details
- Varies up to a maximum of $5,000 for 1 full award paid over 3 academic terms.
Eligibility
- Each applicant should send a letter to the Dean of Engineering describing how he or she fits the requirements and how his or her research programme connects to the award's goal.
- The letter should be accompanied by an application form and a curriculum vitae (CV). Aside from the usual things, the CV should include information about scholarships obtained, publications, and extracurricular activities while at Waterloo.
- The Dean and Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, Faculty of Engineering, shall make the final decision.
