About the Scholarship

The David Johnston International Experience Awards will honour David's unrivalled leadership as President of the University of Waterloo for the rest of his life.
These awards will recognise his outstanding contribution to Canada and his dedication to fostering greater understanding among people of all nationalities.
Many individuals and corporations have donated to this fund in order to honour David Johnston's exceptional achievements throughout his 11-year time as president of the University of Waterloo.

Eligibility

All prospective overseas undergraduate and graduate students admitted to the first year of their program in any Faculty at Waterloo are eligible for these grants, with priority given to students enrolled in thesis-based programs.
Only international students whose tuition expenses have been assessed as international student tuition fees are eligible.
International students who have received an entrance average of at least 80% will be considered.
Students who receive significant financial aid (i.e., more than $7,000 per year for undergraduates or $20,000 per year for graduate students, excluding IMSA and IDSA money) are normally ineligible for this grant.

Application Process

When students enrol for the courses for which this scholarship is available, they will be automatically considered for it.
There is no need for a separate application.
