About the Scholarship

The David Johnston International Experience Awards will honor David'unrivaleded leadership as President of the University of Waterloo for the rest of his life.
These honors will honor his dedication to developing better understanding among people of all nationalities and his outstanding contribution to Canada.
Many individuals and corporations have donated to this fund to honor David Johnston's exceptional achievements throughout his 11-year time as president of the University of Waterloo.

Eligibility

All prospective overseas undergraduate and graduate students admitted to the first year of their program in any Faculty at Waterloo are eligible for these grants, with priority given to students enrolled in thesis-based program.
Only international students whose tuition expenses have been assessed as international student tuition fees are eligible.
International students who have received an entrance average of at least 80% will be considered.
Students who receive significant financial aid (i.e., more than $7,000 per year for undergraduates or $20,000 per year for graduate students, excluding IMSA and IDSA money) are normally ineligible for this grant.
