Student Groups and Organizations

New England Institute of Technology, or NEIT, offers a variety of clubs and organizations that are both professional and fun. Some of these include Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Society of Automotive Engineers, Game Development Club, and Video Production Club. Events are regularly organized by these clubs which allow students to network, learn and enjoy. Furthermore, there are yearly competitions such as the TechXpo that showcases student work.

Libraries and Study Resources

The New England Tech Library provides students access to textbooks, periodicals, and academic databases for research. There are also specialized workspaces designed for collaborative work with the added benefit of networked computers and printers. The Tutoring Center is a core academic resource, offering assistance in a variety of subjects.

Labs and Research Facilities

NEIT provides a high-tech environment for practical learning. Its hands-on approach to education can be seen in the array of labs across its East Greenwich campus. These include a Vessel Operations Lab, 3D Printing Lab, Cybersecurity Lab among others. The Innovation Lab provides students a place to create and collaborate on new ideas, particularly in the area of technology, engineering and design.

Athletic Facilities and Grounds

The Student Center houses NEIT’s fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment, suitable for both cardio and strength exercises. The Center also has a regulation-sized basketball/volleyball court, electronic game systems, a lounge area and even a Cyber Lounge where students can work on their laptops or other electronic devices.

Housing

New England Tech offers on-campus housing at its East Greenwich Campus in a modern residential apartment complex. The accommodations are comfortable, secure, and only a short walk from classrooms, the library, and other campus resources. The suites, with full kitchens and living areas, are fully furnished to provide students a home-like environment.

Social and Recreational Spots

The George E. Boyer Hall is a hub for student’s social activities. It features the Textbook Store, the TechStar Cafe, the Game Room, and Student Lounges. Off-campus, students can enjoy a tasting at a local brewery, experience an art festival in downtown Providence, or do some shopping at the Warwick or Providence Place Malls.

From its modernist architecture to its hi-tech labs, NEIT campus is full of attractions. A special mention is the Shipyard, a unique facility designed to replicate a real-world shipyard where the students in Marine Technology program can experience hands-on learning.
