Residence Halls

It may be a lot of fun and a fantastic opportunity to meet other students living in the halls. In mixed-gender flats, you will live among students from all backgrounds, cultures, and courses.

• Chancellor's Hall

You'll be walking distance from your lessons because Chancellors Hall is on the Kingston Hill Campus.

Chancellors Hall's student accommodations are being renovated by the institution. The spruced-up halls will provide contemporary, fashionable rooms in a green setting. A recent renovation project involved 280 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.

• Clayhill

The ideal home away from home, Clayhill, is situated in Surbiton's lush residential neighbourhood.

The hall has 715 en-suite bedrooms in a convenient and enjoyable student living complex and is our largest hall of residence. Four students share a kitchen in each apartment.

• Middle Mill

On the Knights Park site, Middle Mill Hall is ideal for Kingston School of Art students. The town centre of Kingston, where you can find local shopping and transportation to central London, is about 15 minutes walk from the hall.

Middle Mill is one of our smaller halls of residence, having only 204 bedrooms. Being close to the Hogsmill River gives it a tremendous sense of community.

• Seething Halls

Seething Wells is adjacent to the Surbiton town centre and train station and is situated right on the River Thames. You won't even think you're in London because there is so much greenery nearby! The hall is housed in a historically significant listed building on an old waterworks site. In the 1990s, it underwent a transformation into student housing. With roughly 750 fully renovated en-suite rooms, the renovated residence halls will provide contemporary, elegant accommodations in an environmentally friendly setting.

• Walkden Hall

Walkden Hall is situated on our lush Kingston Hill campus, so your classes are just steps away from your door, making it easy to get out of bed in the morning. Modern and chic study spaces are available in the freshly painted halls. 160 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms that recently undergone renovation.

In your search for the ideal student residence, be sure to consider the many private housing alternatives in and around Kingston.

Types of rented accommodation

• Shared houses/flats

In this scenario, you rent a room in a home or apartment and share the living room, bathroom, and toilet with other occupants.

• Studio Flats

Studio apartments typically consist of one room with a kitchen and separate bathroom. Usually, these cost more money.

For students only, many private providers have constructed blocks of studio apartments. With these advances, you will benefit from some independence while still being surrounded by other students. Ask the provider what steps they take to promote a feeling of community within the building to help ensure that you don't feel alone.

• Bedsits

A bedsit is a space with some kind of self-contained amenities, typically a tiny kitchen or a separate laundry area. Typically, individuals who live in the same building as you share bathrooms and toilets.

• Family Home

Here, you share a home with the proprietor. Bills are included in the rent, making this the most affordable choice. Meals are served differently depending on who you share them with. Before you inspect or commit to anything, ask the resident owner/occupier what they would expect of you because house rules and regimes can also differ greatly.
