From the time I could remember as a child, I have always seen my mom very much into growing plants and beautiful flowers in our garden. But during my high school time, if I could remember correctly, she had a lot of things going on with her personal life and her professional life. She is a music teacher, so she had to take her online classes and her offline classes and was very much caught up with it and also had to take care of other things. And she found herself to be very busy that she couldn't take good care of her plants and eventually they all dried out. But then again, it was during the COVID-19 time that she had a lot of time in hand and she then devoted most of her time to growing new plants and taking care of them like how she used to before. And I feel it gives her a sense of happiness and she takes care of them as her own children and she makes sure however tired she is every evening that she waters them regularly. Our garden looks so beautiful from outside and whoever comes to visit our home has this start of a conversation by appreciating how beautifully it has been maintained and kept. And the entire credit of all of that goes to my mom and no one else because it was completely her project and her dream to make it so beautiful. And I often see her just smiling at them at times and looking at it and feeling so proud from inside and that gives me immense happiness.

When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So yes, she really loves it. She actually treats her, mistreats them as her child only, sometimes I feel like.

    Band 7

In this situation I really want to take the name of my mom just to appreciate her efforts to grow plants. My mother is always fascinated about growing plants and nurturing them. She even decided it as her part time job and she grows all kinds of vegetables and flowers which are necessary for households in the kitchen garden. She has set up a garden in the backyard of my home and grown all kinds of necessary vegetables. She started it when she got married to my father and her passion towards gardening keeps her going even today. She knows the benefit of growing crops at home. She uses only organic manures and it also saves some amount and if she grows in excess she'll make sure to sell them to the neighbor house. So it's a kind of financial support to her.

    Band 7

Out of all the people I know, the one person who enjoys growing trees and takes it as a serious hobby would be my mother. Ever since I was a young girl, I have seen her engrossed with this hobby of planting new saplings and taking extremely good care of them. She's meticulous with the details coming to the planting, the watering, deseeding, cutting off of the dried leaves and every simple task that occurs with the whole process, she is obsessed with taking care of them. She connects with them as human beings. She also considers them as living, breathing souls. This is one of the things that I love about my mother. At present, she has grown some flowers in our garden, whereas there are some vegetables she recently started growing on the terrace. To be honest, I love her skills. She's very practical and I'm happy that she's organically growing something. There is not even a single particle of dust ever on the leaves of the plants. She cleans them properly and takes care of them accurately. The runners have their spines installed, the trees have their wraps involved. Everything is done by her.

    Band 7

I'd say a person who likes to grow plants is definitely my grandmother. She thinks that plants help create a positive environment in the home and also they're obviously providing oxygen so that's again a plus point of growing plants. And they prefer, both my grandparents prefer to grow a variety of crops or plants such as coriander or tomato or maybe flowers as rose, lilies etc. And they normally grow them in our backyard or in our balcony because that is the most appropriate place to grow a plant because obviously you won't grow a plant in your room or in the drawing room. It is her favourite pastime to water the plants every single day. So she would go in the balcony, sit near the plants and admire them for minutes and for hours and that is literally her favourite pastime. Also my grandfather likes to take care of the plants by watering them or trimming them etc. So both my grandparents really love the plants they've grown and really look forward to growing more plants in the future.

    Band 7

My mother always had a dream to have a backyard full of plants and flowers in her home. It was a good childhood memory that both of us went to nurseries and selectively picked up seeds as well as plants for our own backyard. Although we did not have a full lawn or a garden since we stay in a two-bedroom apartment, but we do have a small section of balcony just with our plants. She always admired the qualities and the benefits of plants that we can get in our day-to-day lives. For example, aloe vera, tomatoes, onions and every season she purchased those seeds and grow in our backyard. Never have we ever got any medicinal plant pieces from outside because they all grew in our very own garden. We grew vegetables from tomatoes to peppers to curry leaves. This has always been my childhood memory.

    Band 7

So, my mom is a person who grows these plants. She likes to grow the plants at home. She has a great love for plants and gardening. Our home is surrounded by beautiful green plants and even small flowers that she has grown with care. Every morning she waters the plants and spends time checking their growth. She believes that plants bring peace and positive energy to the house. My mother enjoys collecting different types of plants from flowering ones like roses and hibiscus to indoor plants such as money plants and peace lilies and tulasi. She also grows herbs like mint and coriander which we often use in our cooking. Her garden not only looks beautiful but also feels refreshing and lively. What I really admire about her is her patience and dedication. Even when a plant doesn't grow well, she never gives up. She tries to understand what it needs and takes better care of it. Though gardening, she has taught me the importance of caring for nature and being responsible. To me, my mother is not just a plant lover but also someone who finds happiness in giving life and color to her surroundings.

    Band 7

A person who likes to grow plants, that would definitely be my close friend, Kashmi. So Kashmi, I have, I met Kashmi in kindergarten and we've been best friends since then. And she's really aware about the environment and I really admire that about her. If you go to her house, you would find innumerable plants. And I'm not even exaggerating. I tried to understand what sort of plants she liked growing and I just got confused because I did not even know that many species of plants existed. She grows anything and everything, especially she likes to grow the plants and vegetables that we consume in our food, in our everyday lives. So she really believes in environment friendly practices. So that is why she, in an attempt to make cooking sustainable, she grows these plants at her house and then uses all these organic products for cooking.

    Band 7

My parents actually love growing plants and they have their own garden on the balcony. Particularly my dad is more fond of gardening as compared to my mom. But since my mom supports everything my dad does, so she helps him out with gardening. They actually really enjoy this time together. And since my dad lives in Pune and my mom lives in Kolhapur, they don't get enough time together. So they make sure that every weekend whenever my dad visits, they spend at least 30 minutes to an hour gardening together. They have grown a lot of different types of plants like we have Tulsi. They have also planted Lotus just two weeks back. There is this one plant called Brahma Kamal which is quite auspicious for Indian families. Whenever it blooms, it has beautiful white flowers and it symbolizes that something great is going to happen in the family. I feel that since the time my parents have started gardening, they have become really calm and it helps them relax. They are quite burdened with responsibilities and work. So this hobby helps them get over the frustration and reconnect with the nature and themselves. Last month, it was my mom's birthday.
