- West Virginia University is a public research university, ranked as an R1 Doctoral University by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Founded in 1867, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
- In 2020, WVU received a record $ 190 million+ funding for research and development. WVU is a proud bearer of 45 Rhodes scholars, 24 Truman scholars, and 45 Goldwater scholars. It has spent more than $113 million on scholarships for students.
- WVU Morgantown consists of 14 schools and colleges offering 359 majors in agriculture, arts and science, business and economics, law, medicine, public health, media, pharmacy, etc. Online programs cater 600+ courses, 40+ degrees, and 20 certificate courses. There are 450+ student organizations and the Center for Service and Learning to indulge in service-learning and volunteering for active involvement inside the campus.

West Virginia University is a very friendly place to live on campus. They have a few great faculty and even though they can be very strict in their dress code, they are the friendliest college around! You will never be stressed out when you are living here or if you chose to go off-campus. They have a great campus life with pretty much everything on-campus!

Definitely a good college. The professors are great and very helpful with the students. The dorms are clean and the classes are great, however I would like to see more places to eat on campus. There is a food court in the basement of West Virginia University's library that has some pretty good food.

My wife and I just moved to Charlottesville, VA from West Virginia University. We love it here! We have a wonderful time in Charlottesville, as well as being very impressed with the campus, the atmosphere and family-friendliness. Our professors are great and their teaching style is what we associate with a top tier university that's going places.
