Founded in 1867, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.   1. For ordinary admission, a 2.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale is required.
  2. Must have a good command of the English language or request conditional admission and enrollment in the Intensive English Program (IEP).
  3. Desired English Proficiency: Before an application for academic admission to WVU may be considered, undergraduate applicants whose native language is not English must present one of the following test scores:

Admission Process

How To Apply

Step 1: Examine the admissions prerequisites, English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements (only for undergraduate levels), and undergraduate application deadlines.

Step 2: To apply for an on-campus programme, submit the WVU Application or the Common App, along with the $65. nonrefundable application fee.

Step 3: Send your TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, or Duolingo English Test scores to WVU.

Step 4: WVU should receive the following information:

  • Copies of all official academic records/transcripts in the issuer's native language (transcripts from U.S. institutions must be sent to WVU directly from the institutions).
  • Original language copies of all academic degrees or diplomas.
