The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a public research university in North Carolina, United States. Founded in 1946 as the Charlotte Centre of the University of North Carolina, it became a full-fledged university following its merger with the Consolidated University of North Carolina in 1965. Since then, it has become a premier academic institute renowned for its research activity. Its nine colleges offer 79 undergraduate, 66 graduate, and 24 doctoral programs in various fields.
