International First-Time Freshmen Admissions Criteria

 

  • Be eligible to attend a university in your home country.
  •  Completion of a secondary programme equivalent to a US high school diploma with a minimum 2.50 GPA, which must include English and Mathematics courses in order to be considered for a scholarship.
  •  Only one developmental course is required:
  •  SAT1 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 500 (ACT 18) - OR SAT2 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 500 (ACT 18)
  •  510 Math (ACT 19)
  • IELTS 5.5
  • TOEFL 61/173/500
  • DUOLINGO 85

Supplementary Items for International First-Time Freshmen are required.

1. Official high school transcripts, graduation certificates, and any required national exam results for secondary school graduation.

2. If high school documents are not in English, they must be translated into English.

3. Scores from the TOEFL, Duolingo English Proficiency Exam, or IELTS

4. A bank statement or formal bank letter showing cash to meet I-20 charges, as well as a Statement of Financial Backing.

5. Official ACT/SAT scores should be given directly to ULM from the ACT/SAT.

7. To complete the I-20, you must have a valid passport.

Procedures for Admission

 

Step 1: Obtain official transcripts from your university.

Request that all undergraduate and graduate work be provided directly to the Graduate School on official university transcripts (one copy from each school attended). This can be emailed to gradadmissions@ulm.edu or submitted to the Graduate School's address, which is mentioned below.

Step 2: GRE scores

Take the GRE and/or request that your official GRE scores be transmitted to the Graduate School.

Step 3: Submit an application to graduate school.

  • Fill out the online Graduate School application.
  • Online. Complete the ULM graduate application online at either the domestic or foreign application sites. When you submit your application, pay the non-refundable $20 application fee ($30 for overseas students) by credit card. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are all accepted at ULM.

Step 4: Submit an SS Program Application Portfolio

Create a portfolio that includes an SS programme application, curriculum vitae, an example of your scholarly writing, a programme goal statement, and three letters of recommendation, all of which must be sent electronically by February 1 to css@ulm.edu. These materials cannot be presented on paper, and incomplete portfolios will be disqualified. You must submit a fresh portfolio if you are reapplying to the programme.
