What kind of Scholarships and Financial Aid are available?
All new students are automatically evaluated for academic scholarships as part of the admission application process, so you won't need to submit a separate application. These merit scholarships are awarded on the student's high school transcript and class rank.
If you're awarded a merit scholarship, it's renewable for 4 years of full-time UG study as long as you maintain the required cumulative GPA established for your specific scholarship.

Here are the Types of Scholarships available at Sacred Heart University:
1. Merit Scholarship Programs:
- All new students are automatically considered for merit scholarships during the admission review process.
- Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, including high school transcripts, class rank, course selection, and overall GPA. The Test-Optional Admissions Policy also applies.
2. Activity-Based Programs:
- These scholarships are for full-time undergraduates involved in campus activities such as athletics, community service, and arts.
- Awards are based on the level of involvement and contribution to student life programs, including roles like Resident Assistants and Undergraduate Research Assistants.
3. Need-Based Programs:
- Institutional need-based aid is provided based on data from the CSS Profile and the FAFSA form to determine federal and state grants and loan eligibility.
- Financial assistance is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need as assessed through these applications.
4. Endowed Scholarships:
- Available to full-time undergraduate students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years who apply through the Endowed Scholarship Application.
- Committees award scholarships throughout the academic year, with eligible students notified by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
