SUNY Geneseo requires you to have a 3.61 GPA and be above average in your high school class. At the very least, you'll need a mix of A's and B's, with more A's than B's. You can make up for a low GPA by taking more difficult classes, such as AP or IB.
This demonstrates that you can handle more challenging academics than the ordinary high school student.

If you're a junior or senior, changing your GPA in time for college applications is difficult. You'll need a better SAT or ACT score to compensate if your GPA is at or below the school average of 3.61. This will enable you to compete effectively against applicants with better GPAs.

All exchange students are highly encouraged to live in university-run residence halls for a full-immersion, American college experience. First-year and second-year exchange students are obliged to live on campus in university-operated residential halls at SUNY Geneseo, according to the SUNY Geneseo Residency Requirement. The SUNY Geneseo International Student and Scholar Services Office, in collaboration with Residence Life, arranges on-campus housing. Off-campus housing is available to students in their third year or later. For more information, see the "Off-Campus Accommodation" section below.
