Founded in 1929, Santa Monica College is a public community college in Santa Monica, California. This college was founded as a junior college; this institution accepts more than 30,000 students in more than 90 fields.
The main campus is situated on Pico Boulevard. Besides, this college manages five satellite campuses across Santa Monica. In recent times, 2/3rd of students from this college are appointed part-time. This college's Arts Mentor Program offers sure Fine and Applied Arts students graduate-level training by skilled professionals in specialised fields.
This college offers courses in 7 areas of interest: Business, Education, People and Society, Arts, Media and Entertainment, Culture, history and languages, Science, Engineering, Technology and Math. Apart from these, Santa Monica College offers associate degrees, bachelor of science courses, general education etc.
This institution provides a wide range of occupational certificate programs involving fashion design and accounting and also offers logistics and supply and chain programs at AAS and certificate levels. The college is one of the few community colleges that possess a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy instrument for research purposes.
